Hey @drkent. It's great to see such talent joining the Steemit community. I’m a music lover, and a sonic artist, and I listen to a bunch of different genres. I’m also a researcher in psychoacoustics, which is all about the perception and psychology of hearing and our response to music. Again, very little knowledge in the visual art, but I do reckon that it all ties together in ways. I didn’t realise how Steemit could actually be such a great platform to showcase artistic talent like this.. My earliest posts on Steemit were all about my music, but I completely gave up hope because they got no views or up votes.. It was really discouraging, so I just began posting more generic blogs about cryptocurrencies etc, whatever was hot on the scene… So, I’m really glad the artsy side of Steemit is working out for you. Maybe some day I’ll get there too! 😅 I understand the discouragement that often comes in the beginning of most people's Steemit journeys. I'd say that realistically, I have ample time to give my music posts another try, but not until I’m really cooking on Steemit. To me, "passion" posts are where the greatest value comes from – even if there's little financial reward, the greater gift is in the creation itself. Here at Steemit it’s important to find the what gives and gives just as much as you give, and more. It's perfect for people who want to express themselves creatively, find their voice and exercise their ideation. I appreciate it as a platform/spotlight/amplifier for expression. Even more rewarding will be the connections we make with other participants in the community. There's a definite feeling of kinship here, and I'm proud to contribute through various roles: songwriter, encourager, appreciator, and sister.
Art and creativity helps me connect to the world emotionally. It’s really so much more than people think.. It’s a journey, and it’s fun to get lost. Anyway, it’s really nice to read that others appreciate it as much as I do.. Happy New Year, and keep up the good content on Steemit.
At the moment I can't seem to get any exposure on Steemit, but I'm inspired and hopeful after seeing how well your "introduceyourself" post is going down... Do let me know if you have any good tips!!! Anyway, welcome to the Steemit community, keep up the good work and Happy blogging!

Hey my friend, this is a beautiful comment. Thanks for your in-depth thoughts, and I'd love to see you succeed here! I'll enjoy out finding more about what you do, and I hope that you interact with more of my posts, and I'll do the exact same! My best tip is to really just be yourself, be playful, look at the people who vote on your posts as actual people, and see what they would like to read & see! Good luck, and please stay in close touch!
