Hi Steemians, I have been already posting for couple of weeks on Steemit. In the beginning of this journey, I just wanted to share some of my travel blog and vlog posts before the "introduce yourself post" to give you an idea about how my account will grow... However, I think now it's time for a more personal introduction :)
Who am I?
My real name is Duygu. I was born in Ankara the capital of Turkey and now living in İstanbul for almost 4 years. I'm a 28 years old dancer, engineer, enterpreneur and a traveller.
I've joined Steemit community to share beneficial travel blog/vlog posts to give some hints and advices about the places I visited. I hope my content not only will be helpful for travellers who are making their future plans, but also will enjoy people who are interested in hearing stories from all over the world or who just wants to have some fun:) For bonus, I will also be sharing some posts about dance events, competitions etc. ;)
Now, It's time to give you more details about me and Vovidi...
Me as a "Dancer"
Let's get started with the passion of my life. <3 I started my dancing career with ballet when I was 6 years old. Even before that I was trying to do some moves in the living room imitating the ballerinas on TV:) After taking ballet lessons for 6 years, I started ballroom dance in 2008. Now I'm a licensed dance sport athlete and licensed trainer of World Dance Sport Federation. (WDSF)
My main branch is Ballroom Latin which includes 5 dances: Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Pasodoble and Jive. I'm competing in the Latin branch for 10 years but since I'm a coach I also dance Ballroom Standard.
I'm addicted with competitive dances but I also enjoy social dances like Salsa/Bachata/Kizomba and Argentina Tango. Sometimes I go Salsa festivals and Milongas in Turkey and also in some other countries. One example is Salsa Beach Splash Festival in Sibenik Croatia about which I created a detailed steemit post with a D-tube video ;)
I also love taking a role in big dance shows. My favourite one was of course being the leader dancer as Alice in the Alice in Wonderland.
I enjoyed every moment from the rehearsals to the end of the show.
Me as an "Engineer"
I've graduated from civil engineering department of Middle East Technical University (METU) which is one of the best in Turkey.
Then, I moved to İstanbul and started to work as a sales engineer and I even become the sales manager of the company at the end of 3 years. My company's purpose was providing earthquake protection and acoustical isolation products for the new constructions. I've preferred the sales departmant and never done engineering itself because I was aware of that I would be much more succesful if I can use my social skills in my work. Sitting in front of a desk and making calculations all day long is really not my thing and I want to be more energitic and creative. This is why at the end of 3 years, I started to feel like I was stuck in the corporate life and I decided to resign. This is the the time when my enterpreneur life began.
Me as an "Enterpreneur"
Firstly, I've applied to the Istanbul Technical Universty's Start-Up Incubation Center. My idea was a newbrand social platform on Blockchain, created for travellers to share and monetize experiences. (You can contact with me for details.) The name of the project is "Vovidi". I've created this name by using Latin. There is no such a word in Latin but I mixed the words Vovi and Vidi and It made me feel like it means "devoted to travelling". :) With my team, I've managed to become succesfull in all my jury presentations and reached the semi finals of the BigBang Start-up challange.
However we had changed our mobile developers 2 times and we have lost to much time and couldn't make the finals. Still our project is on hold and maybe it is a good thing because I just pivotted and started developing Vovidi as a rule changing travel blog/ vlog and trying to do my best to become a succesful travel content creator.
Me as an "Traveller"
If the one thing that makes me feel alive is dancing yeahh certainly the other one is travelling! <3 Instead of getting tired, the more I travel, I feel much more energitic. I used to travel a lot before "Vovidi" but after creating my project I started to do my plans in a different way, started recording my travels and creating vlogs, taking notes and giving importance to the details. Especially in the last couple of months I deeply focused on developing my blog www.vovidi.com both English and Turkish.
Furthermore I started making sponsorship deals with the hotels, car rental companies etc. for the upcoming destinations. I offer a marketing package in return of 1-2 night stays or hiring a car compliemtary. It requires patience to get paid as a travel blogger or vlogger, but you should start from some point right? and creating sponsorships is the best one;) I'll be sharing some tips for that on my steemit, so keep following me :)

Thanks a lot for your support! It means a lot to me :) I also like round pictures since they are cute :)
Welcome welcome welcome...
Glad meeting with all :) By the way I've also a cat. Her name is Linda :)
Wow!That's awesome. My cat is looking for a wife. I hope Linda can fill the gap.😀
ahhha I think it is too late for her since she is infertile after the surgery :) she was screeming a lot before that u know ... and we had to do it hhaha :)
Nice to meet you! I wish I could have met you in real life when I was in Istanbul! You're exactly the kind of person I see myself being friends with :)
I wish I had taken dance lesson as a child, because I still LOVE dancing. I dance around the room and at salsa...but I don't think I'm good at it. I just do it anyway for fun.
Same with traveling... I love it too and finally decided to start writing about it because of steemit!
I love your pictures and especially the one of you with the birds is so cute!
I used to grow instagram accounts to 30k-100k followers, but I never did one for travel. I wish I did now because maybe I should have done sponsorships like you.
Thank you for sharing! Followed and upvoted!
When were u in İstanbul? :) Did you like here:) I hope you left here with nice memories...
Starting dance lessons when you were a child is always advantage but there are so many succesful dancers who started lessons in 20s or 30s :) Also most important thnig is just to have fun :) maybe we can meet in a salsa event somewhere in the world, why not:)
By the way I feel the same for you that we have similar spirits and I would love to meet you... Also you are a succesful blogger and I'm surprised that you haven't started before steemit. By the way you also joined in january like me but your posts are doing great! I wish I can be rewarded like you... I'll be happy to take some advice from you about it :)
I have instagram with just 3 k :) I'm not actually using that for sponsorship since it is a very small amount(I can also take some advice for making it above 30k like you) . I'm using mainly my wordpress blog www.vovidi.com besides social media channels for the sponsorship deals.
It is really nice to meet u and I want to be keep in touch with you :) maybe we can continue or chat on discord;) my name is again @ vovidi . :) hope to see u sonn :*
Yes I love Istanbul more than I can say!!!! One of my favorite cities I have ever been too. Also one of my top 3 favorite trips. I even made friends who didn't speak English! We talked all night on Google translate haha.
Yes let's talk and share advice! I'll be happy to! Thanks for your response and kind words. I had a personal blog a long time ago that I only shared with friends and no one else... Do maybe it's not technically my first blog😀
I'm glad that you had a good time in here İstanbul:) ahhha google translate rocks :) its so fun! :) I've sent you friend request on discord... see u :*
Also it was 3 years ago... But it just feels like last year!

Nice to meet you again Duygu :) It is one of the best introduction posts I ever read. I love your travel posts. Did not now that you are a professional dancer, I'm sure that your dance related post would be amazing too. I can suggest you to check @minnowbooster @steemgigs and @steemtrail discord channels to get more recognition.
thanks a lot! you're so kind and it gives me motivation:) also thanks for the channel suggestions, I've joined them and will look into details...

Hi :) Thank you very much for your kind words, it is so motivational!:) I think my favorites are Malta and Mauritius but I couldn't decide which is the best right know:) Maybe I like islands more :)))
I've visited your channel and you are into the topics which I deeply interested! started following you and nice to meet you :)
You're a dancer, this is so cool. So do you learn new dances during your travels. That must be so interesting.
yeah I'm. We were in contact in discord channel for travelling but I just wanted to share more about me in this post :) Ahha yes I learn new dances during travels. For example in Mauritius I danced with the locals on the sand with bare foot and it was fun! :)
BTW .. that discord travel banner is a nice touch! Thank you so much for your support.
always ;) I liked it!
Welcome!

Thank you ^^
Hi! Just read yours. It is a warm introduction:) started following u and nice to meet u :) thanks
haha thank you ^^ i hope we share many amazing stories in ehre !
This is an awesome introduction post! I’m an artist too, and also do marketing and development for a lot of artists (which is why I’m on steemit). I love finding new performers on the site. :) Happy to see you here and check out my blog for some arts-related articles and upcoming announcements. <3 @lilyraabe
wow I've checked your feed! It is interesting & lovely!! really happy to meet you and started following u :) I will be following u closely since I may need some advice about marketing of my own blog :)
I think it is pretty cool you are a dancer, engineer and entrepreneur. Really, how do you have time for all that? Haha! I really like your pictures and I will check out some of your posts. Welcome and hope you like steemit so far. Cheers @lesshorrible!
ahhha I'm really getting far from being an engineer, thats why I have time I think:))) thanks a lot for your warm welcome and your time:) and to be honest I liked steemit but at the same time I'm afraid to loose my trust to platform nowadays... since I saw very low quality posts gets big awards... I dont want to do tricky things you know just I want to see good quality is rewarded... :) we will see... started following u by the way;)
Yeah, with bots low-quality posts can get a lot of attention. And then people just see something on trending or hot and think "curation rewards" and upvote. There are a few meritocratic curation guilds out there like @curie or @steemstem! And you can always just mute people whose conctributions you don´t like. Thanks haha!! Cheers!
Welcome to Steemit @vovidi. What a great introduction post. I love how you followed your dream and resigned from a job behind the desk and became an entrepreneur. Way to go, girl!:)
Thanks a lot @inspiranka!! started following you and I saw that you are living in Prague! I love there not because of amazing old town, also I got my marriage proposal in Prague :) very lovely city... and I hope to be succesful like u. Your posts works very well :)
Thanks a lot @vovidi.
I agree, Prague is super beautiful, I love living here:) Just give me a shout when you are in Prague, we can go for Steemit chat and coffee:)
It would be perfect! :) see u around...
Nice to meet you again my dear friend . You are such a sweet person with great personalities and talents . You are a beautiful person with a beautiful heart , and you are so kind also. I am so lucky to have a friend like you . Regards @vovidi
dear @mrakeshrex thanks a lot! :) we have met very first days of my steemit journey and thanks for all support you gave me in these 3 weeks.. it is really nice to meet you! kind regards:)
Welcome to steemitttttt. I hope u keep making a good content like ur introduction.
thanks a lot! I will try to keep creating good quality and beneficial content :) I'm glad you liked it!
You've got an awesome intro! And wow you're multi talented. I'm looking forward to seeing all your posts about your different crafts. :)
Nice to have met you at the discord even before this intro :)
thanks a lot @wanderlass ! As you said meeting with you at the very beginning of this journey is a pleasure for me to:) and thank you very much for your lovely support! <3
My pleasure! <3
@acidyo thanks a lot for your support and your time! It means a lot to me :)))
@vaibhavshah @triverse thanks a lot for your support:) I'm glad!
What an amazing intro, @vovidi! Thanks for popping by my page and leaving your comments, you have a new follower (and friend!) :-) By the way, apart from the travels and dance, I'd really like some tips about Turkish language, I'm currently learning it ^^
Thank u very much! I loved your feed and will continue to follow closely:) ow really why did you start learning it, are you coming to Turkey? By the way I always wanted to learn Spanish but couldn't start somehow... I would love to chat with you on Discord! I couldn find you, if you can write to me from there will be glad to continue on chat :)
Truth is I never went to Discord :-/ Never understood it actually, but now i have a reason to give it a try! I'll try it asap and let you know!
As for the Turkish, it's just because I have a friend here who wanted to practice French with me (i'm French actually!) and so she is teaching me a bit of Turkish in exchange :) This is her account: @bacinilat One of the few people I convinced to join ^^
great just let me know when you have discord :) Started following @bacinilat so she is Turkish I assume? :) but it is really interesting that a Turkish person involved steemit on 2016 ! what a chance... because steemit is still not known by most of our population... by the way I've taken French lessons just for 2 weeks in the university and than I dropped the course since it was really hard for me and our teacher was expacting us to talk immediately:))
haha French is tough indeed :) I would not expect anyone to know how to speak it immediately, especially for the discrepancy between written French and oral French ... :P
Yeah, she is Turkish and the thing is that she opened the account in 2016 but only really started to write 2 months ago! ^^
As forTurkish Steemians, you'll find that @artizm and @mnallica and @cerenselenapa who are very creative and successful on here! There are all from Izmir which must be the Turkish capital of Steemit ^^
WOW! I'm absolutely blowed away about your life and a little bit jealous =)!
I love dancing as well, ballet since I was 6-18, ballroom, modern dance and folklore... unfortunately I stoped this when I was 18.. Now I started wirst salsa again.. But I stopped again because there was to much party-to less dancing in this "scene"... I love to see your joy at the dancing pics... I never dared to become a professional dancer.. 😳
I'm curious to see more of you! 🤗
Dear Rebecca it is really nice to meet a person who had involved so many dance styles and who knows the joy of it very closely :) wow by the way 12 year ballet?? Do you have a teaching licance also? Because for example in Turkey you get it in 11 years if I'm not wrong. I agree with the salsa scene but there are still some nice festivals maybe we can meet in one of them :) by the way I also started argentina tango last year and milonga nights are very nice also, maybe you can also try that one :) im really glad we become friends and looking forward to share travel and dancing memories :)
my uncle is obsessed with tango.. I've done the basics in dancing school, but haven't forced it... no in Germany go don't get a teaching license.. I just did this because it was fun...
do you plan any festivals instead of this one?
there will be one in İstanbul I'll join it in the beginning of April. but havn't planned others, trying to plan just my normal travels nowadays, and trying to do sponsorship deals with the hotels for the following months... :) wish me luck :)
you have my fingers crossed.. I think April its not possible for me. I'm now at my way to Portugal ✌️
ow great I'll be in portugal in july . I will start with porto, continue with lisbon and my trip will end in faro :) so I can get some tips from you:)
We have tips for you for around Lisbon and share with you the most beautiful beach EVER :)
Great re-introduction post and I liked your Salsa beach festival post 😁
ahhha :) thanks a lot! Glad you liked it:)
