I’m 18 years old with "nearly" 22 years of experience! Let me introduce myself

Hey, Steemit family. My Name is Craig, I’m aged 39 and from a country where we love drinking tea, eating scones and talking about the weather. Yes, I’m from England, in the UK. I’ll be honest I don’t enjoy sharing my age as I approach the big “four zero!” It’s OK though. In future, I’ll just say I’m 18 years old with 22 years of experience! That’ll work, right?

How was I introduced to Steemit?

@BenColley introduced me to the amazing Steemit community. (Thanks, Ben!) Once I read a few articles, specifically, posts related to cryptocurrency, I had to sign up. So here I am.

What have I done, and where have I been?

Before being married with two kids, I was lucky enough to travel the world visiting places such as Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, USA, Canada and a bunch of other countries in Europe. Visiting many countries and witnessing different ways of life was such an amazing experience that I’ll treasure forever.

I got married in 2010 and have two young children. I’m a full-time Project Management Professional, managing mainly IT projects. I became PMP certified in 2014, and this year I’ve successfully maintained my certification for another three years.

Back in 2010, just after our Wedding, I was offered the opportunity to relocate to North Carolina, USA. We spent close to five years in North Carolina and enjoyed the way of life. During our time there, my Daughter was born. Shortly after she was born, we found that she had a rare medical condition called FPIES (Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome). It’s a type of food allergy affecting the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Classic symptoms can lead to severe lethargy and change in body temperature. These symptoms caused her to pass out, which at six months of age was scary for us to witness! It was a tough time for us as a family, and so it became clear that it might be best to head back home to the UK and be close to family. We enjoyed our time in the US, but love being back home.

What are my hobbies?

I’m a massive football (Soccer!) fan. I also enjoy watching American Sports especially the NFL and MLB. Other interests of mine include personal development, entrepreneurship, the finance industry, technology and having fun with my friends.

What does the future hold for me?

Well, as I approach 40, I’ve come to a point in my life where I want to test myself and look for new challenges. Is this what is known as a mid-life crisis, or is that when you’re 50? Either way, I’ve decided to enter the exciting and potentially lucrative world of online entrepreneurship. My goal is not just to own one online business, but multiple businesses that create multiple income streams.

Owning my own business has been something I’ve always wanted to do, but the comfort of earning a monthly salary in my 9-5 job has meant I’ve procrastinated and not taken the risk to leave the comfort zone. 2017 is going to be different. Since making a conscious decision to start an online business, I’ve noticed that more opportunities are being presented to me and I’m so excited about the future.

What about my future posts here on Steemit?

Now that I’ve found Steemit I plan to post content about my thoughts, interests and challenges as I start the journey as an online entrepreneur. I hope this may be of some value to a few in the community. Oh! And don't be surprised if I create the odd sport related post!
