Personally I don't think something will "overtake" Facebook and become the dominant social platform - the interesting question is not "what will replace facebook", but more "what is the next evolution of social media". Platforms like Steemit lets it's users share in the value creation it generates - this is a very powerful signal, and just might be a clue to what we can expect to see more of.
