Hi Steemians!
How are you all doing? This is just me saying hello and telling you a bit more about me. I tried doing this before but I don't think I did it quite right.
I'm Temitope a 19-year-old Nigerian who loves reading, writing, researching and singing. I currently study Statistics at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria but it doesn't stop me from doing the things I love to do. In fact, in 2016, my 300-word story made it to the semi-finals of the Etisalat Prize for Flash Ficition; A continental writing contest.
I joined Steemit because I was excited by the prospects of finally earning some value for my written works. I hope to grow and make many friends here and your UPVOTES and COMMENTS will go a long way in encouraging me to stay.

Hi @isteemithard, I'm glad you liked my post. There are so many tribes in Nigeria, so I can't really tell you all the favorite local dishes. I'm from the Yoruba tribe and some of the highly loved foods in my tribe are 'Iyan' (A solid pudding of boiled and pounded yam), 'Amala' (a pudding made from powdery yam or cassava flour), Fufu and a plethora of vegetable soups and sauces.

Nice to meet you, Temitope. A 500 word story seems like pretty good challenge, I dont think I could ever hold myself to that kind of limit lol I'm excited to see what you can do with so few words. Welcome to the platform and enjoy ;)
Lol @thespiritwithin, it's a pleasure to meet you too... I understand your viewpoint , it's definitely not going to be easy to confine myself to word limits but I'll have to try. Although, now that you've mentioned it, I think I might expand the limit to 600 words. However, that is still under consideration.
