Hello! This is my intro post! My name is Alex and I'm 23 and I'm only getting older as the days go by. I was born and raised in North Highlands, California and reside in Boise, Idaho. I guess my posts here are going to be kinda all over the place. I am drawn to the road and to nature. I try to live alternatively with keeping a simple life in society with the lack of lust for the materialistic lifestyle. I have been learning to stray away from allowing our society's view of the status of 9-5 jobs, growing debt, and feeling the pressure the internet has made us to be connected always.
I will most likely be posting cheesy posts about my consistent wanderlust and my endless thoughts about life choices and how I've been able to overcome and realize how our minds are the only thing that is keeping us trapped in most situations.
I needle felt as well and will be posting my current projects and my journey to open an etsy account. Here are a few that I've made so far!
I also have a beautiful dog named barley that tags along for all of our adventures!
Thank you for taking the time to read my intro!

Those toys are really nice, how long did it take you to make them? Anyway welcome to Steemit Alex, from another Alex! =)
As we both have wanderlust, I wrote an article which will help you get cheap flights if you ever feel like coming to Europe ( https://steemit.com/travel/@borderedge/how-to-find-the-cheapest-flights-from-anywhere ).
Once you are in Europe, don't limit yourself to the Western part, as the Balkans and the East have lots of non-touristy superb beaches, mountains and cities. They're a lot cheaper as well. By superb beaches, this is what I'm talking about https://steemit.com/travel/@borderedge/places-you-should-visit-part-1-ksamil-albania
It depends on how big they are but the raccoon took about two weeks and the sloths normally take a week between a 40hr work week. :) Always nice to meet another Alex, Gotta stay together ha.
Your blog seems perfectly helpful for someone like me who is only a couple years into traveling but is looking to expand it to other countries!
Whoa! That beach is so beautiful! I would love to swim out to that island! Where all have you been?
So how do you make them? it looks like wool and crochet but I could always be wrong =)
Thank you for the compliments! I've been to 35 countries (including a stopover in Angola) in my life. Mostly in Europe, with Turkey, the Caucasus (Georgia and Armenia) and a bit of Africa (Morocco and Mozambique). What about you?
You actually take wool and just shove a barbed needle into it until it because a hard sculpture pretty much! Sounds a little violent because it is haha. I have actually never been out of the states but truly do want to!
Welcome Alex. I love your projects. Have fun.....

Hi @tinysoul, and welcome to Steemit! Great intro... I like your creatures-- are those needlefelted? Anyways, it's a great community with people from all over the globe... and most of us here because we're tired of walking the "normal" path. Hope you enjoy your time here-- it takes a little while to get established and develop a following and a circle of friends... but have patience! It's well worth it!
Yes they are needlefelted, It's a hobby I picked up two years back!
It seems like a beautiful place to grow with other open-minded artists and wild minds!
I will keep posting my love in life and hope others feel the same!

I did a stint in Boise. The biggest little city that I couldn't find anything to do in and they didn't season the food. May they have mercy on you young one. Watch out for the hill people from potato land right at the border. Oh and when it rains the sugar beat factory smell... oh my... I must have repressed so much from this time...
Welcome to steemit! I've actually lived in the Sacramento area and in Boise myself throughout my years of travel. I'm interested in what you'll be posting. I love your needle felt and would be interested in buying a walrus from you if you made one. Hello :) Nice to "meet you". I saw RebelSkum had referred you when I hopped on to put my introduction up. I have been working on it for a couple of weeks but things just kept getting in the way. In any case, it's good to finally be here. Welcome and I hope you like it. Love your pictures and it sounds like you have a plan of action! Way to go! Hope to see your face sometime IRL but until then, happy trails!
Nice to meet you as well!! Yes writing an intro even took me a couple of days to put together between work and everything! Hopefully I can write as smooth as RebelSkum one of these days! I really adore it so far! Sometimes stars align and maybe meeting will be a possibility! Will be super excited to see what you post! 😊
voted up!
Hi @tinysoul welcome. Your boy @rebelskum is a legend. He was good to me when I first joined.
Your craft work is great. Especially the dog in the snow. Almost looks real.
Enjoy your time on Steemit. See ya around. Peace.
Yes he is the sweetest, online and in real life! Oh yeah the doggo in the snow took a heck of a long time to make!
