The Steem House will be Frankfort, Kentucky's first collaborative workshop, powered by cryptocurrency!

What if there were a place that you could go to express your creativity in any way you could imagine, socialize and collaborate with other creatives, feed your entrepreneurial spirit, encourage children to partake in the fun, and earn money for all of it?

There's a growing movement of collaborative work spaces, where individuals from the community share tools and machines in a common creative environment. They go by many names, like makerspaces, hackerspaces, and fablabs. No matter what you call them, they're the breeding grounds of imagination, skill development, and entrepreneurship. We'll be writing an in-depth explanation of what makerspaces are, and the opportunities they provide to the community in a later post.

What The Steem House will offer that other makerspaces don't , is helping every member monetize their time, and turn their creativity into cash! This is possible all thanks to the Steem Blockchain, a network of platforms connected to a social media infrastructure that pays users to post and engage with content. By simply writing posts, posting pictures and videos, etc. about what they're creating, just like someone would on any other social media platform, one can earn digital tokens when people engage with their posts and comments! These digital "STEEM" tokens are a cryptocurrency, much like Bitcoin. The Steem House will work hand in hand with its members, showing them how to turn those digital tokens into cold hard cash in less time than it takes to have a pizza delivered!

So what types of things will The Steem House provide?

To start, The Steem House will be a Steemit onboarding hub for our local community. It will be a way to reach out to as many around us as possible, spreading the word about the potential Steemit can provide literally anyone.

We will foster new creatives and bloggers, helping them navigate the sometimes overwhelming Steemit and cryptocurrency ecosystems. We will consult with every new member, to learn what interests them, and advise them on the types of content they could be paid for.
No blogger gets left behind!
In its earliest form, The Steem House will provide the community with

• A creative, family-friendly environment to socialize and collaborate with others.
• Fun and informative workshops and seminars for adults AND children!
• Community projects and fundraisers to stimulate the local culture and economy.
• Shared materials for numerous writing, arts, and craft projects.
• A support net to ensure every member of The Steem House who puts forth an effort to earn, can and will.

As revenues begin to increase, so too will The Steem House's versatility, and ability to provide new opportunities for creatives and entrepreneurs! As the project grows, we will be able to provide things like

• Extra computers for public internet access
• 3D printers and other fabrication machines
• Audio/Video Studio
• An expanded community outreach
• and way more!

First things first.

We'll need to secure funding to enable us rent a space big enough to work in. One of the downtown shops on Saint Clair street would be perfect, and give us the best exposure to community at large.

Once a location is secured, basic furniture and supplies will be needed. From there, as revenues and membership increase, we will quickly expand to fill the needs of any creatives who grace our doorstep.
