What is your favorite music? I am partial to jazz, funk, Americana folk, Balinese gamelan, and Hindustani ragas. Favorite artists are Sun Ra, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Ominous Seapods, Luna, Grandaddy, Pavement, Built To Spill, Phish, Grateful Dead, King Crimson, Paul Simon... I'll just stop there.

What is your musical preference?
My username was taken from combining jazz references. Thembi (an album by Pharoah Sanders) and Ra (as in the jazz artist Sun Ra). thembi - ra. It also spells "the mbira" - which is a plucked thumb piano from Africa, known by many names. Mbiras were the first non-Western instrument I played, so they have a special place in my heart. Stella Chiwese is my favorite mbira artist.
