to focus on beauty you don't need to focus on gender^^ anyone who is interested, i.e. your target audience , will come because they are interested in beauty, not because they have a certain gender. Example: recently i was looking up some tips for my sexlife and websites like cosmopolitan like to write their articles about sex in such a way that they include mostly just women with a boyfriend or husband. That's great, but those tips could be useful to me and my friend with benefits as well, but the article assumed a specific audience and thus i didn't feel connected to the author's writing. So I think sometimes it's best to assume a wider audience^^ just my two cents of course.
