Hello there and greetings everyone, from Surreal Mantra, your newbie newbie member, who enjoys silly jokes and plenty of cheese and has been on the planet for half a century already, traveling on imaginary clouds for the most part of it.
I am new here as you can see. So I thought about introducing myself on this platform. I really had time for it as I was out of resources really quickly. I have been thinking about it all day: what can I say about me in this surreal era of Covid and lockdowns?
My choice of name matches well with the times, I feel.
I have been away for a long time from social media.
Doesn't matter. It's been an interesting year so far and I don't mind starting from scratch. This is a year for new beginnings in all aspects of life, including blogging, art and all things in life.
It's a sunny lazy day today and I have been going through all kinds of backups on my pendrives and came across a long, very long, list of photos I took from clouds, over the years. They were all taken from the same place (my bedroom) and there are sunrises, sunsets, cloudy, stormy, a bit of everything... Most of them are too blurry to be of any use on their own, except as a resource to use as background, body parts or inspirational palette for my digital art, but some I rather like on their own...
I like to photograph the sky at dawn. These are all photos I took over the years, from the sky above my house located in the north of Portugal.
They have survived sitting idly in the camera memory card, then on the hard drive, then they all got dumped into a backup pen and today I thought it was a good day to revive them somehow. You can call it a sky resurrection if you like.
This one above sort of reminds me the religious postcards so en vogue two or three decades ago. It fits the current holidays theme, with the graveyard and the rays of light, I suppose.
I just realized that most of my life, my bedroom windows (even in hostels abroad) have been facing towards the back of graveyards:
It's amazing to me how the colors shift so quickly during sunrise and I used to get up really early some days to catch a glimpse of them.
I feel so tired today. It's the second day without sleeping (due to several different reasons - mainly my health and family members health).
Maybe I'm starting to hallucinate but...
This one above reminds me of a fortress or castle on top of a UFO...
It's has been sunny all day and the birds are happy all around the house. Also there is silence, at last, except for the chirping of birds and the buzzing of insects...
I love silence.
It's the kind of day you'll find yourself levitating easily, in your mind. Did you ever had that feeling? Tell me all about it in the comments below.
I also have plenty of random clouds and shots of the sun during the day and some attempts at photographing the moon at night:
I may end up assembling all the photos in a video to inaugurate my YT channel. It will definitely be less time consuming than to upload them one by one. Until then...
I leave you with this view of the moon and street lights that resemble hearts (or fireflies). Good night!
