I'm a long-time denizen of the web. I first got on-line in the last century using dial-up. I was into bulletin boards back then when most stuff was text. I'm a great lover of on-line communities that can bring together like-minded people from around the world. Can't find a good photo at the moment, but here's a drawing of me by a guy from Drawnalism when I was at a Twitter event.
I've used Orkut, Multiply, Twitter, identi.ca, Diaspora, Facebook, Tsu, Minds, Bitlanders, last.fm and probably a load of other social sites to various extents. Generally you can find me there as steevc, but my real name is Steve Clark. I'm a Brit who got into computers at a fairly early age and has worked with them for most of my life. I'm a developer currently working with C++, but I've used many other languages. I'm a big fan of open source and have used Linux as my main OS for years. I'm fascinated by things like cryptocurrency and encryption.
I spent 2 years in southern Germany in my 20s, so I can speak at least one other language. I know bits of others.
For fun I play guitar. I've got a load of videos on my Youtube. Also got various tunes on Soundcloud that are better produced. This is all just for fun. I was in a community called Six String Bliss that produced collaborative albums. These days I mainly play at pub sessions.
I've done a fair bit of blogging for fun in the past. Will try a bit on steemit. Looking more for engagement than money.
Look what I found Steve :) I need to write my intro post and decided to challenge myself to find your intro post to get a template. I know I could have just asked you but this was more fun. And I learned that hivesearcher.com is better than peakd.com to search old content :) Great intro btw. My intro needs to be drastically cut down to make it as crisp as yours was 8yrs ago. Cheers!
You can see I made a whole 2c! Interesting to see some of the commenters have such low reputations. That may have been a result of the Great Fork as people took sides. Things have changed so much over the years.

When I see discussions from the Great Fork it feels like stories you have heard indirectly, and then later you see proof in terms of written material about the stories. I used to have a very high level idea by just seeing your comments in other places but since joining here I have chanced upon that milestone in different places and it has been interesting reading. Another thing which made me smile in your intro is the mention of Tsu. I remember your songs for that platform. If I remember correctly you even had a song for Tsu itself, did you not?
I think I did write a song or two for Tsu. I also wrote some about Steem. I wish I could come up with some more now, but I've lost that spark.

Beautiful drawing!
Had not heard of Multiply :)
Thanks!
Multiply was a neat site to share stuff with friends, but it eventually died and became some sort of market for Asia. I used it for a fair while. The problem with all these sites is that your old posts get killed off, but I think I was able to extract my data. I have a few blogs. One is on a site I own, but it's too much effort to maintain.
lol. I assume this is a bot. That's something else to look into
