Hello! Welcome to Steemit.
In order to prevent identity theft, identity deception of all types, and content theft we like to encourage users that have an online identity, post for a website or blog, are creators of art and celebrities of all notoriety to verify themselves. Verified users tend to receive a better reception from the community.
Any reasonable verification method is accepted. Examples include:
- A post or tweet on an established Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or other social media account with a link to your contribution on Steemit.
- A reference or link to your Steemit account on your website or blog.
Thank you!
This is a fake account impersonating Philly D.
It's sad that people think they can get away with it too. Yes, we have people on here confirming accounts folks. The more famous a person is or the more valuable their content online is, the more important it is to verify their identity.
I have done what you have done multiple times, and I'll reach out to the real person for verification. Many times they are the real deal, but occasionally it's a fake profile. Kudos to you for checking into this one and getting an answer from the real guy!
Here's the promising new user information I share regarding verifying an account:
Account Verification
Verifying your identity is very important because it will get you more support and people will trust you more.
The best way to verify is to link back to your Steemit account by using one of your other social media accounts. Some people will even post a video of themselves writing out their account information since that cannot be Photoshopped.
The more famous a person is and the more valuable their content is, the more important it is that they verify.
Thanks again, @truthforce, for being one of the Steemit Detectives keeping this place free of imposters and scammers! :)
