#introduceyourself Hi, I'm Claire

I think I've been putting off this post since I joined Hive.

But it's been almost six weeks now and August is my birthday so I figured it's good time to introduce myself.

I'm Claire

• Who Am I? I am thoughtful, curious and independent.
• What Am I? I am an encourager, a word-smith and a planner.
• What do I choose? I value trust, authenticity and joy.

I've been studying NLP recently and I loved the question of Who Are You? Not What do you do. I'm an eco warrior, nope that's what I do. It has to be "I am ... adjective ..." not "I am a ... noun..." that's generally what you do, not who you are. So ponder "Who are you?"

Random Claire Facts

• Originally I'm from Yorkshire in the UK, now I live in Sydney, Australia and moved here with Mr SW in 2009.
  

• We have dreams of being self-sufficient and owning a farm in country NSW, Mr SW wants a goat dairy, at this point the only real vegetable we have grown in the garden is radish (and we haven't eaten them yet). So I'm at the start of my gardening and growing journey.

• I am a creative accountant, literally, I make jewellery and I help other creative business owners with their financial systems. I also love words and trained in writing as my first degree. Number nerding came later.
  

• I care about the environment so if you're going to follow my blog expect lots of sustainability content. But I wouldn't call myself an eco warrior, more of a conscious consumer.

• When I was younger I ran away from home when the family dog was put to sleep, I was about six and I hid in the alley 5 doors down from our house for at least 20 minutes. Now we have a rescued cat but a dog is definitely in my future.
  

• In January 2020 we hiked the Tasmanian Overland Track over six days and it was the hardest thing I've ever done, a 90km charity bike ride was easier, running a half marathon was easier and moving to the other side of the world was easier.
