How I got into this Crypto shit. A CryptoKitties Christmas story.

It was December. 2017. Another more or less boring day at the office. I saw the news. Bitcoin hits 11k. Eleven motherfuckin’ k?!

It was a May sunny day in Dusseldorf. Me and my wife were smoking cigarettes on a blanket in the park. I told her I’m thinking to buy 10 bitcoins because I heard they exist. It was about a thousand for one. She ignored me. I took a sip of my Jever beer and got my hand through her hair. The fuck is Bitcoin anyway.

Back in December. Bitcoin hits 11k and I have zero Bitcoin. I get online to read about it. From link to link I end up in CryptoKitties. I’m thinking offering CryptoKitties as a gift to someone special might be a good idea since every kid is talking about it. I buy Ethereum. For the first time. My first crypto. Then I loose part of it in failed transactions. Fucking kitties. I’m loosing real money trying to buy freakin pictures with cats. Some good soul on reddit sells me some. I breed. I play. I give them names. Fun.

All in all I got from 6 to 10 kitties. Spent around 0.3 Ethereum for the whole thing. By the time Christmas came, KryptoKitties were not a trend anymore, so there goes my money and my idea of a present.

I now have 10 CryptoKitties and a jar of weed. And this account on Steemit.

Well I’ll tell you later how I went to another city to buy my first 1/10 of a damn Bitcoin.

Here’s some screenshots of my favourite cats. They are a reminder of my first contact with the wicked world of cryptos.

Wow that is awesome! Welcome to the world of cryptocurrency it's a wild ride. I bet you were shocked that bitcoin went from $1,000 to $11,000. Looking forward to reading your article about how you went to another city to buy 1/10 of a bitcoin haha.

I will write that later on today got to do some work I have a meeting at 12 and I m fin around here instead of working:)

Welcome Catlady. :D

We all started somewhere, and we all have "i should've" moments. Think about the future. Cryptos are recognized and mass adopted and you still can be part of it. And sell your effing kitties ^^

Sell them? Nah, they are too cheap now. I d rather keep them to remind me of the saying "never say never". If 3 years ago I would meet the now me I would laugh my ass off.

The question is what the amount of ether they lock up is worth in 3 years :D but they are a good reminder, thats true :D best wishes!

thank you, cuz.

Welcome to steemit, Life is Good here and you already know how to write a good story. Just sit on your kitties, new off site games and even worlds are coming that will make things far more interesting. We need to move them off the ETH chain to play for free and only pay to transfer them.
You are better off holding crypto for profit, almost doesn't matter what coin.
Cheers

Thanks for encouraging me. Peace!

Thank you. Now leave me alone.
