The recent rise of spam, fake-accounts, plagiarism and hatespeech has become unbearable! I am starting my work here today. I will look for and warn about spammers, fakers and trolls! If you see anything suspicious, do let me know. Send me a comment or a transaction with a memo. I will look at any case and report any suspicious findings here. My first case is a Nigerian prince type of story, only in this case, our Nigerian prince is impersonating a pencil-artist with blatantly stolen images and lies here on steemit.com. yours,

This post has seem to have caught the usual comment spammers.
Sometimes the investigation starts at your own front door.
No surprise there, it's tagged #introduceyourself... basically a spam magnet ;)
I am not so much looking for the average comment-spammer, though, those are obvious to everyone.
I am looking for more serious scams and nefarious activities.
My few cases so far have revealed some scams and fake-accounts already.
Good luck with it...hopefully you don't snag some whale's tale in the process.
It will happen eventually, I have no doubts. But until it does, I will stay vigilante!

Ok. The thing that annoys me is when i get taken in and upvote half of somebody's brilliant posts, then find their intro and realise they couldnt have understood their other posts, let alone written them. Then I go back to remove my votes, though I'm not sure thats the right thing to do.

Welcome to Steemit, @sherlockholmes! I have also come across this Nigerian prince, I checked him out and muted him. Even as a newbie here it wasn't difficult to see through him.
Maybe you should put me on your list to investigate, too.
I want to cancel my account on steemit, but one can't cancel. It says so in the FAQ.
I also want to know what happens to a Steemit account if the user dies. Ok, I'm 62, so death might be a more comfortable idea to me than to a younger person, but young persons die, too. So what is the provision that the owners of Steemit made. Who will get the account, the money?
Can another person inherit the account? Can I sell my account?
If I don't get an answer to those questions, I will only have one last resort and that is trying to get me banned. Then I hopefully got rid of the account, but still the question remains: Who will get my money?
So watch out for me, I'm still as nice as ever, but if I don't get answers to my request, I will have to get me banned.
Can you ban Steemit users? Do you have the power? I hope you do!

nobody can "ban" a steemit account.
a steemit account is like a bitcoin wallet. If you die and do not pass on your private keys, then nobody will ever be able to access your funds.
Also, accounts cannot be deleted. They are forever recorded on the blockchain.
