I joined here a week back.. and here is what i learnt one should not do..
Don't follow the crowd. This includes -
-voting up because others are..
-Random comments on posts..
-Ask people to follow you..
Don't put too many posts..
Don't voteup immidiately on the post.. give it 2-3 mins.. this relates to curating
Don't throw your ego at comments or posts you don't like.. be logical in debates..
Don't copy paste.. steemcleaners will catch you.. i tested this explicitly
I hope this helps newbies..
Welcome and enjoy the freedom of expression with steemit in right spirit..

Upvoted and followed
Thank you
What are steem cleaners?
Bots that scour the internet and the steem blockchain looking for plagiarism. If you cut and paste web articles and try to pass them off as your own these bots will downvote and you will lose badly
Got it, thanks!

You must be more clear. What is too many posts? And why is it not good?. Why wait 2-3 minutes and how does it relate to curation. Why should you not ask others to follow you?
I will find it helpful as a new joiner if you could expound.
if you wait a little bit before upvoting a brand new post you will get better rewards. I'd say wait until it's at least 15 minutes old then you might get more curation rewards
Perfect advice..
Why not too many posts?.. i think answer lies in how much quality content you can produce in short time.. also i think as you build more followers, you don't wanna fill their alerts with messages only from you.. anything overdone isn't good.. is it? Lastly how many in a day? I don't know the right number.. but may be start with 1-2 a day..
