Introduction To Running Man! (Korean Variety Show) - First Post

Rejoice Running Man fans! This is the first Running Man fan page on Steemit and we wish to post interesting stuff on Running Man here!

For those who have not heard of Running Man, here's a brief introduction.

What is Running Man?

Running Man is a Korean variety TV series where the members take part in a series of missions to win at the end of each race. Previously, the members consisted of Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Ji Seok Jin, Kang Gary, Song Ji Hyo, Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Jong Kook.

Recently, Gary left Running Man and two new members joined, i.e. Jeon So Min and Yang Se Chan.

Running Man rose to fame with their awesome name tag-tearing games. That said, Running Man is much more than just name tag tearing games these days. They have had so many different game formats in the past that you'll definitely love! Any kind of weird and unique games you can think of like chicken fight, peppero game, food bingo and so on, they've probably done it.

There's a new episode almost every week of the year, for the past 7 years, which shows how much they've grown. They even had races in different countries such as Thailand, Macao, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and so on.

Why should you start watching Running Man?

• It's one of the best variety shows in Korea or in any part of the world. The members are hilarious and the games are fun. It's always a fun to watch them each week. Even if you can't read, write, speak or understand Korean, you can always download/stream their English-subbed versions. They even have Chinese subs or other languages for that matter.

• You have something to look forward to each week. Running Man kept me entertained week after week for the past 7 years and it helps you to de-stress.

• Great way to understand Korean culture and much more. Running Man was the first variety show I watched and since then, I was exposed to Korean dramas, Korean pop, Korean food and so on.

• You get to learn of new places in Korea and may help you if you want to travel to South Korea some day. Their races are held in various locations all over Korea and you get to know new places each week, from Hangang river to Namsan Tower to Busan and so much more.

• I plan to grow this page and have more writers in the future. For the meantime, it's just me. You'll get the latest updates on Running Man here.

1. Super Scary Labyrinth Of Fear Japan

This episode was pretty hilarious! Running Man had a new global project after they accepted the two new members. Those who lost were to be punished by going through any of the scary destinations put forth by the producer. It included this labyrinth of fear in Japan, crocodile cage in Australia, shark cage in the US and a few others.

It took them a number of episodes before they were selected to be punished. By randomly picking a destination, Yoo Jae Suk picked this scary labyrinth of fear!

This episode was really funny because the members were scared to death in the haunted house. Jae Suk and So Min paired up and Se Chan and Seok Jin paired up. The funny part is, Kwang Soo had to go in alone! (with his cameraman of course). Do check out the episode online!

2. First Place Tour In Tokyo

Right after the haunted house experience in Japan, the Running Man members continued their race in the heart of Tokyo.

They were accompanied by a beautiful guest, Jung Hye Sung, who joined them at the set of the haunted house. They were divided into 3 teams and even stayed in different places. Unfortunately for Seok Jin, Ji Hyo and Se Chan, they camped right outside the haunted house! The other members enjoyed either a hotel or a ryokan.

The race was pretty fun, especially when they teased Kwang Soo with Hye Sung, like the Russia episode. The objective of the race was to find places or people who are no. 1 for something. For instance, they visited the first Tonkatsu restaurant and the first red bean bun bakery. Do watch it!

3. Running Man 7th Anniversary

This is actually the latest episode, and it's not finished yet. This time, the members had to invite one guest each, preferably a family member. They were joined by Cho Sae Ho, So Min's brother, Jong Kook's brother, Su Yong, Naeun (A-Pink), Geun Shik, Ji Hyo's brother and Tae Hang Ho.

As it was raining heavily that day, they played games indoors and it was really funny. The jokes were hilarious and the games ended up funny as well. They dragged on to another episode which is not shown on TV yet. Do check out the first part of it!
