Yeah, the soundscapes are broad in the genre. A lot of people like Aphex Twin and will even say Bjork is IDM, but when I got into in the late 90's and early 2000's I was finding small obscure artists like I Am Robot And Proud, E*Vax, b.fleischmann, Headphone Science, Text Adventure, and a slew of other small time artists. My stuff is kind of like who I've mentioned. The genre has died off for many years and I kind of want to bring it back because it would be so fitting with cryto themes. A lot of the labels are gone who I liked... there used to be a website over at em411.com which was a huge community of the genre.
