RE: Greetings from Detroit

Hi @roelandp, nice to meet you. They call the festival Movement now that it isn't sponsored by the city. It's still the same quality of music, but privatized and capitalized upon. I actually wrote about that in the Nullstreet Journal vol. IV, pg 22, back in the BTS days. I was trying to make some connections with local artists regarding Peertracks. (Aside: does anyone know the status of this project?)

The cops literally do not give a shit about weed here. It's decriminalized. I used to live by Oslo sushi, it's a whisky bar now. One thing I really love about this city is its diversity. There are a lot of cultural neighborhoods representing their traditions and values spread all throughout the city.

Detroit is constantly morphing and has come along way since 2004. There are still plenty of marginalized areas, but new developments as well. It's an interesting time to be here.
