Hello everyone, my name is Roland and this is my first steemit post. I'm very excited to be here and get involved with this community.

I'm 39 and live in Los Angeles' south bay. I work in aerospace, where everyone is taking about crypto currency these days. Steemit is a very fresh take however and I think it will be very successful.

I have three kids and 99% of my free time revolves around them, however when I get a chance I am also passionate about the microbrew scene, and I have some connections to winemakers as well.

Enjoying fine wine and craft beer while gaming (the Axis & Allies/Catan kind, not xbox) is one of my favorite ways to spend the day, if you don't count building pinewood derby cars with my three boys. :)

I'm probably in the wrong profession because ever since childhood I've had a need to review everything. The internet has been a good outlet over the years. Rolandsplace.net, now defunct, was one of the internet's earliest sites, comparatively (created in 1995, and over the years filled with music reviews, root beer ratings, sports reviews, etc). I don't know what ticks inside me that makes me rank everything but I must say it's deeply satisfying, and incites interesting conversations.

More recently I've been blogging about craft brews (sour beers especially, lately) in collaboration with beer47, on instagram. My friend from high school runs beer47 and has become very knowledgeable about the brewery process, from hops to finish. Me, I'm fine with just the tasting and drinking part, but I have opinions as much as the next taster. Anyone in LA been to sour fest this year???? It was awesome! 20171110_190740.jpg

Mr beer47 (his name is Dave) and I have also been playing Axis and Allies since the 80s (board game based on WWII. Think "Risk", but 12 hours long and with 20 types of army pieces). We'll be at Gencon this year in Indianapolis going for the tournament title again (if I can pull him away from the Catan tournament). Gencon is an awesome place to preview new board games. For me, the more complex the better (half inch thick rulebook required, we joke sometimes).

Welcome to Steemit @rmorel! I love a good craft beer as well.

Check out the tag #BeerSaturday. It's a weekly competition run by @detlev where we all post about beer. The winners walk away with some nice prizes. I'm sure we'll all appreciate some sour beer reviews.
