I'm one of 20,000+ libertarian/voluntaryist activists moving to New Hampshire to stop big government! I'm also the author of 3 cookbooks! Now, I’m learning how to write/talk more openly about my feelings & beliefs
Welcome to Steemit! Definitely giving you a follow. My family and I made it to PorcFest this year after three years of me trying to convince @corinnestokes, and it was awesome. The kids free ranged, and we had a blast. So many great conversations and new relationships. I'm looking forward to connecting more! You can find my introduceyourself post here.
Seeing kids run around freely was one of my favorite parts of PorcFest. It reminded me of how I got to play growing up... not under the constant supervision of helicopter parents. Cheers @lukestokes@corinnestokes! Look forward to interacting with you here!

Glad you made the move with us, and glad you're going all-in while you're here. I need to stop by and get a closer look at what you're doing sometime. In the meantime, keep on rocking it!
When is the next party for explorers? We were signers way back and are Libs all the way doing our best to live it as life allows... Currently really enjoying our latest move to the Rockies... How can I get support to continue the free state here in Colorado.. I also am looking for partnership in building blockchain apps for local trade currencies.. I would love to collaborate!
Hey Randy, very cool story. I've been researching about new Hampshire and the free state project is very interesting. Welcome on board. How's Gary Johnson doing in the poll there?
I've not seen any nh polls with unique data. While many in the liberty community support gary johnson (of the ones who vote) there is certainly not a lot of enthusiasm for him.
A couple of years ago he came to porcfest and got some boos for being such a statist. For most of us, the boos are real but we understand he is the best we have at the federal level.
So he is welcome to visit any time and I hope he wins but my efforts are generally focused on state politics and stateless solutions to problems when possible.
There's definitely a big movement here starting up to push for NH independence. FSP founder Jason Sorens talks about it a lot in the video interview we just filmed with him. (He starts talking secession around the 22:08 mark and continues on until around 35:15.) Check out the Foundation for NH Independence and NHexit.com for more info too.
Welcome to Steemit!
What a read!
I thoroughly enjoyed it and am following you straight away.
Looking forward to more fascinating reads!
Thanks for sharing!
Hi Randy, welcome to steemit, Just a quick note, if you want to maximize your upvotes, it would help if you verified yourself by simply referencing your steemit account on your website (perhaps on the about page), and then post a link to it here. Cheers!
I want to be a part of this, but at present, I just don't have the balls. My biggest fear is being able to find work. Plus, Texas winters can be too cold for me at times. I really can't imagine it up there.
NH actually has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the U.S. and there's a big group of agorist vendors here who run their own off-the-books businesses. Plenty of opportunities for work... there's an FSP Jobs Alerts group on Facebook that lots of people use, as well as an FSP Rent-a-Porc Facebook group for side jobs/gigs. What is it that you like to do @joshua?
RE: the weather, I feel ya... I moved from Los Angeles. Only other place I'd ever lived was San Diego. The seasons are breathtaking here, and really, that's why we have heating and air conditioning :) I actually help write a blog post with my buddy Vince all about the weather and how it's not really as cold as you think in NH. Feel free to give it a look.
I've been a machinist for 10 years. I'm at least as good at it as one should be with 10 years experience, maybe a little better, but the problem is that that's only on a lathe, and most non-oil and gas machining jobs require you to be able to run a mill, which I was never trained to do. Also, I have no idea what the cost of living is in NH. My base pay now is a bit over $50k, and there's no way I could currently work for less than that. I mean, I could if I absolutely had to, but I'd have to give up quite a bit and destroy what little credit I have in the process. In a few years though, I'll have some things paid off, or nearly paid off, which will free up some income, and by then, if I've decided Texas no longer suits me, I should be able to move without much financial inconvenience and will be able to live comfortably should I be forced to take a pay cut.
For now, though, I'm going to check out your weather link and see how I feel about all that.
Great intro and story. Welcome to steemit now lets take this post to the moon 😉 And im not a bot.
Waiitttt a minute I'm pretty sure Paco means Bot in another language? 😛

Ah I see. I'll try to come to the next pork fest to visit.

Thanks @alexfortin . According to this website, Gary's polling at around 10% in NH. (cc @privatepart)
