First post, first juice and what's to come

in #introduceyourself6 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemit!

Wanted to start my first post with one of my favourite juice recipes and touch on some other interests that I may or may not include in future posts.

I'm not 100% plant based person, probably more like 77% but that's still a lot better then where I was 5 years ago. Let's see where I'll be 5 years from now.

I love to start my day with either a veggie juice or a nice smoothie, it sets me up for the day and I miss it when I don't get my daily morning fix. Anyone else experience that?

Same goes for my morning yoga routine, I do it most days and miss it if I can't do it. Being a father of two, there are certainly mornings where it's more challenging to get that time to myself to get in some morning exercise. Still yoga and meditation are a big part of my life, I believe it should be part of everyone's daily routine.

Spring and summer are my favourite seasons as it allow me to step up my gardening and herb growing activities. I do try to grow indoors throughout the rest of the year, in particular the herbs I use in my daily cooking. Like the basil that I decided to include in my spinach juice.

This green juice contains the following:

  • some basil leaves
  • 4 hands of spinach leaves
  • ginger (I like to use loads, but adjust to your own taste)
  • half a cucumber
  • 1 apple
  • half a lemon

Give it a go, let me know what you think of it.

Do you have a favourite juice or smoothie recipe?

Please let me know as I'm always looking for new recipes to try.

Oh yea, I have upvoted you and followed you. Many blessings!

that sounds like a nice one. I personally also like to go out and pick nettles and dandelion and add in those
and grow mint as well of course

Thanks @felander I enjoyed reading your recent smoothie post. I haven't tried nettles, but certainly mint is amazing and it's great to see it's all coming up again in my garden. Indeed great for teas and smoothies, plus summer cocktails :)

Welcome to steemit!

Here is some information every newbie should know:

  • The value of an upvote is related to how much Steem Power the upvoter holds, as well as the current market price for the STEEM cryptocurrency coin.

  • Upvotes are not infinite, but they recharge. The more upvotes a person uses, the less it will be worth next time. On average, each person can give 10 full upvotes per day, because it's also how much upvotes recharge daily. People have to pick between many posts to decide what they're going to upvote, often choosing something they like but also taking profits into consideration. If someone doesn't upvote you, they could be waiting for their voting to recharge.

  • Your free account started with a borrowed 15 Steem Power. As you earn from your posts and comments, that will be taken away until you're standing on your own feet in the platform.

  • Remember to both give and take. If people only want to take away from the platform, the STEEM coin will eventually be worth nothing, because then everyone wants to sell while noone would be willing to buy.

  • If you run into posting limitations, that means you need more Steem Power. It's like a "bandwidth". The more you hold, the more you can do. It recharges, but slowly if you don't have much SP.

  • Steem Power can be bought, but it can also be delegated (borrowed/lent) using a steemit command. It can be undone by using a similar command too, so the delegator is in complete control.

  • You can check those bandwidth and voting metrics on the steemnow website.

  • Follow me, @felipejoys (click), if you like posts about gaming.

I have attached a picture from the steemnow website below so you can see what it's all about. Note: I don't own the website.
