Hey there! I am fairly new on here too and have a couple tips for you.
Besides creating somewhat decent posts,

  1. Connect with people of same interest
  2. Learn about how steemit works and
  3. Collect steam power

These are my tips to you from what i learned in two weeks. Now you are ahead two weeks ;)
