An ex trader turned Pastry chef . A new journey

Hi fellow Steemians and thank you for welcoming me into your community.

I decided to join Steemit as i wanted to share my stories and journey.

Sure, i could just write a blog and write anykind of BS on it but i am just not that disciplined : ).

So i will start here and see what happens.

My name is Jennifer, i aM a pastry chef and i just finished a very tough (workwise that is)summer season in Ibiza. I am now going to Japan to learn more about Japanese pastry.

I wasn't always a chef, no-no, this is my "second life".

Previously, i was a trader, yeah you read correctly - a trader- (US equities, commo, and Asian equities)
I worked on Wall Street for about 5/6 then moved to Swiss and lately Singapore.

After being in Singapore for 3 years, i decided to quit trading and be my own boss. That's when i decided to go into Pastry.
So i started a small business in SGP and i thought it would be better to learn a thing or 2 about pastry. That's when i moved back to Europe to learn.

SO i chose to study in Barcelona and i got very lucky as i got to do my apprenticeship with Yann Duystche who is no less than the winner of the Pastry world cup 2011. So basically he won world's best pastry chef 2011!! After 6 months there i went on to work with Gordon Ramsay in Paris and Ferran Adria in Ibiza.

Even though i worked with the best chef in the industry it was far from being easy. The most difficult part for me was to be given orders.... I used to give orders and now i'm taking shit from every one...wtf!! but i worked hard and i am now in a much better position and i love the job!!!

there is no way i am going back to an office!
