I am Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Onofiok Akpan luke, this is the most basic (at least at this point).

Who's Barr. Onofiok Luke?

I am lawyer and legislator in Akwa Ibom, one of Nigeria's oil-rich states, born as far back as March 16, 1978. I was raised in a family that loved God, had a humble upbringing by Christian parents who both worked in Nigeria's Civil Service. Many thanks to my mother, Deaconess Lawrencia Luke, the woman who first moulded me.

I will try not to bore you with things of little importance here.

MARRITAL LIFE



I am happily and lovingly married to my better half, or maybe my best half, I call her #mummy because she's all my children need in a mother, I am referring to the delectable Dr.( Mrs) Uduak Onofiok Luke.

EDUCATIONAL LIFE
I became an undergraduate of the University of Uyo in 2005, by 2009 I bagged an LL.B. degree then proceeded on further studies to the Nigerian Law School where I obtained the qualification to become a Barrister at Law in Nigeria in 2010.

I am also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Education programme and an Honorary Texan.

POLITICAL LIFE
My political life started back in the days of being an undergraduate, where I was Class Representative, later, Students Union Government President.

I later served a 3-year engagement with Governor Godswill Akpabio as Personal Assistant, was nominated to the Nigerian Youth Parliament where I was later elected as the pioneer Speaker of the 109-member Parliament, a non-stipendiary institution put together by then President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to help generate inputs from elite Nigerian youths into the country's mainstream governance.

I was first elected to the Akwa Ibom state legislature in April 2011 and re-elected for a second term on April 11, 2015.

As a lawmaker, I had sponsored several private member bills in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Some of these motions are the motion for a resolution to mandate the Executive arm of government to publish the state's official gazette, prevent the spread of Lassa fever in Akwa Ibom State , prevent indiscriminate excavations and sand mining, and the prevention of cattle grazing in farmlands and movement of cattle on thoroughfares .


Robust Legislative Engagements

While serving in the legislative committee on appropriation and finance, I was instrumental to the introduction of Participatory budgeting where public hearings were held on state appropriation bills from the executive to ensure due process

In 2011, I became an associate member of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative (NLI) , an international non-profit platform for credible, accomplished and uniquely patriotic Nigerians.

Why I am on Steemit

I appreciate this platform and hope to use it to further motivate youths with notably outstanding talents and potentials, I am currently mentoring scores of Youths in The Onofiok Luke Mentorship hub, here in Uyo Nigeria to become greater leaders of tomorrow, I signed on to Steemit, after much persuasion by one of my trainees, let's see how this goes then.
