First of all, excuse my English, but the language of Shakespeare it’s not my mother tongue… although I try hard. Believe it or not, I first heard about Steemit only a few days ago and, since then, I have been navigating through the site, reading tons of really good and helpful messages. This is kind of addictive!!

Unfortunately, this boring person is me.

So, now that you have put a face to the name, I guess it’s time to talk a little bit about myself. I used to work in the “highly respectable” world of politics. In fact, I was crazy enough to follow a Ph.D. on the subject. I had this naive idea that I could help to change the world bringing some honesty to politics. However, after years fighting against the tides, I realised that I was only a drop of water in the middle of the ocean. And yes, sometimes many drops of water can turn into a tsunami but, being realistic, that hardly happens.

After much thinking, I decided that I didn’t want to spend the rest of my professional life surrounded by an unfriendly and slightly dehumanised environment. Instead of that, I changed profession and now I am a freelance translator and writer. Is it really necessary to say that if I only knew, I could change my job before? Thanks to this decision, now I don’t feel like beating up my colleagues every single day (just kidding again!). Even better, I have found my passion in life: writing. And by the magnificent posts on Steemit, I guess that many of you share this passion with me.

My intention is to write about a variety of issues:

• Life and health
• News
• Sports (I was a professional swimmer)
• History and Politics (how not!!)
• Comedy (I don't know why but many things weird happen to me the whole time and I started to believe that maybe, just maybe... it's me)
• Recipes and cooking (another of my passions)
• Animals (I simply adore them)

In brief, thank you for being there and for allow me to be part of this incredible community.

Como podrán ver en las fotos sobre estas líneas, soy canaria y recientemente he descubierto esta página y también mi pasión por la escritura. Bueno... en realidad siempre ha estado ahí esperando el momento (y el tiempo) adecuado para salir a la luz.

Ah... y este es mi careto (el real)

Soy politóloga e historiadora, aunque ya no me dedico a mi profesión porque no podía seguir soportando muchas cosas no muy éticas que veía prácticamente a diario. Ahora soy mucho más feliz traducciendo y escribiendo para varias agencias de noticias.

Mi intención es escribir sobre una variedad de temas y compartir diferentes ideas con todos ustedes (si se dejan...). Entre otros temas, me gustaría escribir sobre:

• Estilo de vida
• Animales
• Historia y políticas (¡cómo no!)
• Deportes
• Cocina y recetas

También he visto en la página que hay una sección de comedia y mucho me temo que acabaré utilizándola más de lo esperado. No es que me dé por escribir monólogos para el club de la comedia o algo parecido, pero siempre me están pasando cosas de lo más frikis. Con el tiempo, he llegado a la conclusión de que debo ser yo quien atrae estas cosas. En fin... muchas gracias por compartir esta afición por la escritura y estoy encantada de formar parte de esta maravillosa comunidad internacional.
