I agree that the way you introduce yourself is very important to tell all people, but I think one of the things people lose sight of when they are trying to perfect their elevator pitch is this – ''when you are meeting someone they really want you to speak to them like a person.'' You might be speaking with someone in a networking event where the elevator pitch is going to be a bit more comfortable for everyone, but you may also find yourself speaking to someone at your friend’s cocktail party where not everyone is an entrepreneur. If you give them your elevator pitch, it may feel awkward and they got impressed with it.
When you are developing how you introduce yourself in front of people, I recommend the following things to do
1 Include to whom you work with because anyone who is genuinely asking “What do you do?” will want to know this and tell them that politely and be true.
2 Include what problems you solve for them and maybe a little about how you do this and be confident to tell them a query.
3 Above all of them, make sure you speak to them like they are a person and not like an object that might help you expand your business and tell them about your ideas and what you wanted to do with it.
The person you meet might actually be the one who will help you with expanding your business. You might meet them at a networking meeting or your friend’s cocktail party, but the person who is going to introduce you to someone or use your services directly is going to do it because you connected with them on a personable level and not because you have the perfect elevator pitch you have to be perfect man.
Today’s Implementation Assignment As Below:
Take some more time to think about how you introduce yourself to others and be prepared. Make sure that your introduction lets people know who you work with, what problems you solve, and a little about how you do this. Above all, though, make sure that your introduction treats the person to whom you are speaking as a real person and not just an object or business transaction. Make sure your introduction is personable and be interesting and people will love and enjoyful.
