Hiya! I'm Miriam. So excited to give Steemit a try and help spread the word!

Hello!

I'm Miriam. I'm an engineer by trade, turned web developer and graphic designer. I started blogging along the way as a natural evolution of the two. My hubs and I picked up and moved from the city to the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Montana where we both work from home.

My main blog is The WiC Project - a lifestyle/review/food blog. I've been blogging for over 10 years and have seen the "rise and fall" of blogging when it comes to monetization. It's been harder and harder for small or even medium-sized bloggers to make their blogs profitable. So when Steemit popped up in one of my Facebook groups as something to check out, I asked my crytpo-savvy hubby about it.

As he broke down how Steemit allows content creators to be rewarded for their own content, I was more than intrigued. A way for bloggers to earn rewards/income - without Pinterest, Facebook, or other similar sites sounded like the answer to a lot of blogger dreams. (How many times have we posted a recipe, hoping it'll go viral, only to result in minimal actual profit? Not to mention, YouTube shutting down advertising for so many of their video creators.)

(Obviously) I signed up and decided to test it out for myself. I was practically stalking the help channel until my account got approved, LOL! And now, here I am with my first post. :)

I'm planning on sharing some of my most popular articles and recipes from the blog, as well as new content. I love sharing yummy recipes, cool and innovative products, and positive funnies that will bring a smile to a person's face. We have a couple of dogs - Judah....

and Solomon....

... and frequent wildlife visitors like wild turkey...

and bunnies, which I'll likely post about from time to time as well. (This lil' guy was living under our front porch and noshing on all my flowers!)

I'm really hoping that this is something that I'll be able to share with some of my other blogger groups as a viable alternative for being fairly compensated for their quality content. Looking forward to the journey!
