I'm Michael R. McFarland, chairman of the Cochise County Libertarian Party, candidate for the Arizona House of Representstives, creater and host of Life & Liberty, and this is my very first post on Steemit!

This will be my personal blog where I will share my thoughts, adventures, and anything that I find relevant or interesting. You can also catch some Life & Liberty content on here as I share it from the website, and hopefully from the Life & Liberty Steemit account!

Here are some relevant links to my social media pages and website:

I'm really looking forward to interacting with people on this platform, and making new friends!

Hello, Michael, and Welcome to Steemit.

You'll find that Steemit is probably a more effective site for promoting your candidacy and spreading the word about liberty.

Also, good luck in your campaign! ☺

Below are a few basic points of advice re posting on Steemit.
1 – Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
2 – Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
3 – Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.
4 – Be yourself.
5 – Be interesting and informative.
6 – Create quality content. Steemit is intended to be a platform of quality content. (You will see many insignificant posts with meager content and no quality. Most of those of posts [called “shitposts” by Steemit whale Stellabelle] will earn few rewards and soon pass into oblivion.)
7 – Get online and start curating. Read various posts, comment on those posts you find interesting, and upvote those posts. That’s the best way to attract followers.

Hope this helps for now. Good luck, and Full Steem Ahead!

Thank you! I'm still learning the ropes, but I am a big fan of the platform so far!

Awesome, I will check that out!

Welcome to Steemit. Your web site mentions a podcast but the link went to an empty page. I am collecting links to Arizona podcasts on Arizona Color .

Do you have a link to your podcast service or are you self hosting your show?

I should have clarified, but I didn't expect people to see this post so soon, the first episode will be released on June 1st. I am still working on some backend stuff, and putting together material for episodes.

The pace on Steemit seems to be different from the blogging and podcasting.

Activity on accounts seem to be driven by the block-chain algorithm which rewards activity that takes place in a given time frame; so people will see a great deal of activity right after posting their introduction post and then, poof, the activity disappears.

Anyway, I look forward to your podcast and will hopefully remember to check it out in June.

I follow @Cernovich and @Stefan.Molyneux and want smaller government, more liberty, nice to meet you, Mike. I'm Oatmeal. #InformationWar
