Unpopular Opinion and Social media ethics for Newbies

My mistakes on steemit.com as a newbie and it's effect on my career as a digital marketer and a personal brand prompted me to share this to orientate minnows about costly mistakes they must avoid while creating their contents on hive.

For me, steemit was filled with so many emotions, a lot of things triggered actions which I ended up regretting. Unknown to me, social media doesn't forget and being my first involvement in blockchain and crypto related activities, I had freedom to make blunders which correcting it became an herculean task.

CHANGE YOUR ORIENTATION!
The first thing to do is changing your orietantation and perception about hive.blog, just like when i joined steemit, all I had in mind or wanted to do is to create posts without laying emphasis on creating important content about my niche. Obviously, I had none then.

Hive.blog is a great innovation, a platform that offers you freedom, a platform where you monetize your contents and things you have passion for. But beyond earning, hiveblog could be the next important thing that serves as evidence for landing your next job in your different niche.

Even when I left steemit with couple of friends to learn about digital marketing and other skills relevant to leveraging in digital economy. Friends whom were content writes, freelancers and digital products creators whould submit links to their blog on steemit.com when closing deals with their employers/prospects.

Not quite long with good understanding of digtial marketing and social media branding, I set out to build my own personal brand and this time, needed to be very careful about contents people can discover about me. Your guess is right! I headed to search engines to search for my name and discovered even contents from steemit.com started appearing. A lot of comments and ass licking we did just to get upvote as well appeared and could be the my next employer says no.

I started re-editing where possible, deleting the ones I could and leaving behind the ones I couldn't which everytime I come across them, I feel hurt. Taking responsibility for my contents is important but telling you about how I had a misconception and wrong perception of how digital leveraging, content marketing and content writing platforms work is more important.

WAY OUT?
We are in digital economy where every information people can find about you is important to your career, most times when you submit your CV while applying for jobs, people go out to search engines and social media to verify your claims and see contents about.

Becareful and take responsibility for your contents, you can leverage on hive.blog to promote and establish yourself as a personal brand in your own niche. An amazingly, you have much more freedom and can always talk about your niche, your lifestyle. But ensure your contents offers value to this platform users and doesn't be the reason you don't get your dream job.
