I'm a psychiatrist looking to fill a much needed gap in the information market for men seeking information about mental health. The focus will be on prevention and natural steps that can be taken, the social and intellectual background to men's mental health, and self management of conditions. A range of topics will be covered, but the information for people with mental health issues and those who support them will be based upon research. My own opinions and those of guests to the show will be flagged as such. The goal is to disseminate information to those who need it and to promote men's engagement in self help, healthy lifestyles, goal setting and achievement, and self motivation, giving back power to individuals to determine their own future.

Thanks for following. Men are the majority of suicide victims, the majority of psychiatric patients, and the majority of PTSD patients, and the majority of prisoners. There is no government 'men's health' organisation, and men, in many important areas of life including educational attainment, workplace accidents and a host of other areas are relatively disadvantaged compared to women. This affects our mental health. I will admit though that many of the topics I intend to discuss are not gendered at all - like diet and exercise for depression and anxiety, so I'm hoping that it will be useful for more than 50% of the population.
