Hello, everyone! This is my first Steemit post! My friends @richardcrill and @lindseylambz introduced me to Steemit a while ago, but I decided to feel it out for a little before making my first post. My main goals are to step up my writing abilities, interact with new, genuine people and to learn more about cryptocurrency.
About me
My name is Colin and I am 28 years old and I am from Palestine, Illinois. I moved to Texas about a year and a half ago and I currently live in Denton. I work full time at an Amazon Fulfillment Center. The job is not the funnest, but the health benefits are pretty decent and it pays the bills.
Shortly after moving to Texas I met the love of my life. Her name is Sarah and we recently got engaged! We will be getting married next September on my parents property and we are planning a trip to Mexico for our honeymoon! I couldn’t be any more excited!
Interests
Two things that I can guarantee the majority of my content will be about: music and beer.
I am a huge fan of music. I try not to limit myself to a particular genre, because that is silly. I am constantly searching for new music to listen to and I love going to shows. I plan on writing album and concert reviews to help spread the word about artists that may, or may not, be considered household names. Some of my favorite artists are Tom Waits, Alkaline Trio, Slim Thug and Sturgill Simpson.
When it comes to beer, I’m pretty open as well. Except sours. I am not into sours all that much. When trying out new breweries, I like to taste as many of their options as I can to find the styles that I enjoy best by them. Since I am still fairly new to Texas, I have been trying to stick to Texas beer. My all-time favorite brewery would have to be 3 Floyds from Munster, Indiana. They are famously known for their top rated Dark Lord and many heavy metal collaborations. Pabst Blue Ribbon is my general go-to beer. It's cheap and it's union made!

Oh I forgot to mention beer.... I bartend part time and was serving 3 Floyd's space station middle finger ipa , we also do gumball head and zombie dust.... I also like Ale Asylum beer from Madison WI.
I know how must people go crazy over Zombie Dust, but I honestly prefer Space Station Middle Finger over the ZD. If you ever get the chance to try Permanent Funeral, I highly recommend it! Definitely one of my favorites and a great collaboration made with the band Pig Destroyer!

PBR and BUSCH.... ummm ok lol
I do pbr and lonestar on dollar nights. Sour beers are the shit btw. 2 things:
The Busch sign is from a liquor store that I used to work at. The manager was going to throw it out because we no longer sold Busch, but I convinced him to let me take it instead. It hung in that store for about 25 years. I don't mind Busch though. I still drink a few every now and again.
We did look into that venue when we first got engaged, but we decided on Illinois because I have a large family and the logistics will workout better that way. Thank you for the input though!

Hey man whats up how you doin. I am from illinois is it really really really better down there in texas? I am going to resteem your shit you need more attention.
What's up?! I came down to the DFW area and I love it. The weather is awesome! It gets cold, but it doesn't get down to freezing in the winter! I'm from a small town in Southern Illinois, so it's more expensive than there. Rent is pricey. It's cheaper than Chicago, that's for sure. I've been to Austin a few times and I reeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyy like it down there. No state income tax is cool, but tax on beer and liquor is way higher. Not to mention Texas isn't billions of dollar in debt like Illinois, so that's another plus!
You dont like the cold and how you take a shower sometimes and it freezes your hair like gel? Thats one of my favorite past times. I am from the suburbs kinda big kinda small. I hung out at places that were small. Never southern illinois only been in the middle. I am glad you got rid of the illinois the place has been really annoying lately with high prices and everything going to absolute shit. I am glad you found a home down there in texas. You must import your beer from another state huh? Just like cigs up here hahaha. Tell me about it were all stuck. We will eventually get out soon enough!
Haha! I've never really been a cold weather guy. I have a couple of people that I trade beer with, so it's not all that bad. I just miss out on a hell of a lot more limited release stuff than I used to! When I smoked, I would try to make sure to buy enough cigarettes before I went up to Chicago. I made the mistake of having to pay $15 for a pack once. That was like 6 years ago though. How much does a pack run now?
