Introduction

Hello Steemit community, My name is Nicol Hendrikse or lordnigel93 according to Steemit. I'm a creative, quirky musician living in South Africa. Born in 1993 I entered this country in its transition period so, just as most millennials in this country, I'm still looking for my place to truly be myself. 

Although music is my profession I try not to be defined by only that. I believe that a person should have as many interests and hobbies as possible, this fills communities with interesting people. I myself try to be an interesting person doing interesting things such as travel, learn different instruments and write fiction. I'm constantly looking for new hobbies to keep myself busy.

For the past 6 years I was a student at Stellenbosch University studying classical music. These years have given me quite a number of qualifications making me an officially trained professional musician. This would be great if I still wanted to do music. Don't get me wrong, I like music, but oversaturation is a real threat when it comes to living your passion, one I experienced first-hand. 

I recently got married to my best friend and we just got back from our honeymoon. We cruised the Mediterranean on the MSC Meraviglia for a 8 nights. It truly was life-changing. Tomorrow will be our 1 month anniversary.

In my free time I like to keep myself busy with making and listening to music, reading (Song of Ice and Fire, maybe Jordan's Wheel of Time next), watching series and cooking with my wife, playing video games, listening to podcasts (religiously, actually), browsing reddit, reading comic books (DC ftw) and hanging out with friends.

What I would like to talk about in my posts are of things that interest me: books, video games, movies, series, podcasts and anything geek-related or interesting to me. It'd be great to talk about these things to someone other than my wife, I'm sure she would be very grateful if I were to shut up about why Flash is actually faster than Superman.

Thank you for reading my introduction post. I'll be sure to often post quality content when I'm not doing the laundry or going to the beach with the wife. 2018 is gonna be a fascinating year to say the least.
