Welcome to the Steemit community @chillsauce! Austrian ecconomics? But you work for a fintech company in Toronto. I guess we'll hear more in your coming posts.

A couple of tips, ignore the automated bots, they do nothing for you and just earn from your votes.

We love original content! Many other newcomers try to cheat with copy and paste from other websites.

Be patient with building an audience. Steemit is not get rich quick scheme. It is about the people the relationships you build here.

For many new people, the voting and points system seems complicated at first. Here is an excellent post and entertaining video about how it all works.

Is there something incompatible between Austrian economics and fintechs in Toronto?

Thanks for the tips - I'm still trying to get a sense for the lay of the land around here.

Incompatible? I was rather more curious what interested you about Austria's economics.
Steemit - persist, it will take a while to figure it out. I spend more time here now than any other social network. =)

I was turned onto the Austrian school of economics by my friends in the liberty movement. I was influenced by guys like Ron Paul and Tom Woods.

Ah OK, now I understand. I read the introduction of the Wikipedia article. This made me smile. "... considering much of mainstream economics a form of economic charlatanism."
I have a rough idea of where you are coming from, and how this fits hand in glove with fintech.
Thank you for enlightening me. =)
