RE: From Gang Life To Voluntaryism

I lived in a pretty shit part of Baltimore area when I was a teen. Highlandtown. The crime was everywhere and would be hard to avoid.

So glad you got out and are now dedicating your life to having a positive effect.

You are clearly very intelligent and empathetic and have so much to offer the world.

Thanks for sharing. :)

I was homeless in Highlandtown for a time. All I saw was bloods, trannies, liquor bars, and xanax bars

I don't condone the use of the word "trannie" but your description is accurate there were prostitutes on every corner, people selling crack, trying to buy crack. I got robbed my first day there! I have an older blog about my experiences there. It was hell and a disgusting place and I would never, ever go back.

I don't use "tranny" as a pejorative or an insult, just short for transgendered

It is pretty much a slur at this point. I use "trans" as short for transgendered. :) But, as I said, very accurate description. Although I was there before the xanax craze. I was in Orlando during that and xanax was rampant there too.

You didn't happen to know a tubby white dude named A.P. did you?
