***NEWBIE ALERT *** (Please don't tease me if I'm posting wrong)

You would think after 25 YEARS of friendship, @mattclarke would bypass the "Go in to the City and get a selfie... blah blah blah" in order to receive his very generous and limited gift of 500 SP. I still don't know what 500 SP is exactly, but it "steemed" like an offer too good to pass up. But no! No shortcuts for me. And it proves what a fair and decent guy he is, I suppose – YAWN!

I have been observing @mattclarke for a while now with his steemit adventures. Actually, I guess it stemmed back from his bitcoin days which caught my attention, and I gotta say, this guy knows his shit! To me, Matt was/is ‘that guy’ who would pull out some big word during a conversation which I would pretended I knew the meaning to. And I would convince him I understood the definition with a polite smile and nod of the head. So, what I’m saying is Matt to me, has always been known for his superior intelligence and having his finger on the pulse. So even though I have close to ZERO idea what Steemit is (and bitcoin for that matter) I trust that @mattclarke wouldn’t advise me to climb a massive Christmas tree in the centre of Adelaide in order to find the presents he left for a few lucky ones. Did he make you climb the tree also? Thank you Matty for introducing me to this very foreign world of upvoting and steem power n shit. Two thumbs up Brother! Or in this case, two upvotings up 😊

Anyway, I'm Kristie Lee. Hi. I'm the new kid on the block. I’m 40, even though my profile CHOOSES to believe I’m 25 (and hey, that’s OK!!) I am a Fibre Artist from Adelaide in South Australia. Fibre Artist? What’s that? I will write about it one day. I own my own business and I am excited about this new world of interaction. I will feel my way through Steemit like the rest of you have, or will.

I had read very little about Steemit prior to signing up, in fact the catalyst for me handing over my email address and phone number was, I was mostly drawn to being introduced to a platform where I could openly share my beliefs, thoughts and correct opinions on subjects which are close to my heart like love, compassion, mindfulness, personal development, art and creativity in an environment for emotionally mature people. I am also excited to share the many facets of myself, which make me, ME! My Blogs may not be daily, but when they come they will be full of passion and truth revealing the true essence of who I am. I will delve in to subjects which peak my interest such as sex, energy patterns, relationships, psychology, spiritual growth and philosophy (and art, as mentioned previously). I am looking forward to making friends more than money here. I genuinely hope to meet some like-minded soul Brothers and Sisters to connect with who are conscious about their existence here on earth. Much love and peace to you all.

Congratulations, @kristielee.
Great to see you got the pinecones and needles out of your hair after that arduous climb.
12 months x 500 SP delegation coming your way.
Happy steeming, and a Merry Christmas :)

There are 14 presents left under that tree in Victoria Square, so if you'd like to claim a 500 SP delegation for the next 12 months;
Post a selfie holding a gift in front of that big Christmas tree with the Adelaide clock tower in the background.
Use the tag, #underabigtree as your first tag.
This is available to the next 14 people who do so.
(There aren't any gifts under the tree, you need to bring your own as a prop).
Adelaide is going to be Australia's steem hub. Let's do this thing :)

That's awesome. Now we just need someone to do the same for Melbourne.

Melbourne's going to fade into insignificance like Sydney, if its not careful :P

Lol. Just posted asking #teamaustralia if there were Melburnians who would be interested in a meetup. No responses (although I'm new so lack of followers probably an issue there). I visited Adelaide for the first time a few months ago and had a great time. I really liked the art gallery and there were some great vegan eateries like 2-bit Villains/

@choogirl knows everyone. I'm sure I've seen Melbourne mentioned a few times, so they're around.
Our Adelaide BBQ was pretty great.
If Melbourne was nice, you guys could do something similar.

Welcome to Steemit! The world doesn’t need to know you aren’t 25 anymore 😉. Loved your intro post and as you can see this place is fun confusing and filled with awesome people. You have a solid friend already. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. You can find me in the minnow support group discord. You might me asking, what is that? Well, come find out!

Thank you @kubbyelizabeth feeling my way through. Being a Pisces, I feel like true fish out of water. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" :D

Welcome!

Adelaide getting so much bigger...

Just think how good our SA meetup will be next year!

We are a supportive bunch of characters so sing out with any questions.

Resteemed to my followers have a great afternoon.

Thanks so much @o07 I honestly, don't know what I'm suppose to do from here. Bear with me, I will catch on soon enough :)

Everything will make sense in good time :)

Adelaide has all the people. I better get in to the tree tomorrow before all the presents are gone!

Welcome Kristie Lee! I am also a newbie but it's not so bad at all. Everyone is super friendly here and Matt the guru really gives a good tour of what Steemit is all about :) I love your article, and seriously, saying you're 25 is way more believable than 40...you look youthful as anything! Looking forward to learn all about fibre art in your future post :) xo

It now says I'm 39!! What? I've aged 14 years in 1 day? Waaaaah!!! Now I'm beginning to realise the number in brackets wasn't my age insert crazy laughing emoji face. Hi @george-e , lovely to meet you! Will you be my "Newbie best friend"?

welcome to steemit, Matt is really recruiting like crazy these days, you'll thank him in a few years.

I probably will @phelimint ! Forgive me as I am only a few hours in and still learning the ropes :)

Phil here made a beautiful batch of silver coins at his mint in Canada.
I have many of them, and they're lovely.

Huh? Are you talking in cryptocoindollar code?

No, actual solid silver coins.

I'll show you one when I see you next.
A girl in the Blue Mountains, @bearone designed the fishy side, and Phil and Eli from phelimint ran off a batch of 1500.

That is rad!!

Welcome to Steem. There is some great content on here. Be sure to check out the teamaustralia group for Australia related content and people :)

Starts to think
Superior... Intelligence... Hmm...
Nah just kidding, Matt's a good bloke and I only met him once due to the Adelaide meetup.

Welcome to Steemit, by the way! :)
The community is amazing and you will get along well with others, make friends easily etc. We all are in the same journey to grow and enjoy so thank you for being another wanting to join us on it! :)

Still plenty of presents there, mate :)

Hell, I'm moving back to Adelaide and I'll just commute to Melbourne. Adelaide still has the best people, although it hasn't changed a lot in 20 years ;-)
Creativity is the spice of life...

Hello sweetheart. You look so lovely. I hope you would enjoy steemit as much as we do here. Have a great day!

Welcome to the party @kristielee! @mattclarke that steem present idea tied to a real world action, love it! Good stuff mate!

Thanks :) I've been thinking about it for a while.
When they're all snapped up I'll post about my reasoning and hopes for the year.
2018 is going to change a lot of lives.

Welcome to the Steemit community @kristielee Looking forward to your posts. I must say you Steemians in Adelaide certainly know how to have fun. @mattclarke you are a HUGE asset to the Steemit mission, thanks for all you do to keep it fun and exciting here on this platform.

Thank you @vickiebarker , where are you based? In Australia? Lovely to meet you :)

Thanks, Vickie :)
Adelaide and steemit have been very good to me.
Bringing them together and watching them both grow is very satisfying :)

I live in the northern part of Idaho, the US. Your picture here with the tree looks so very warm I do wish I were there right now. We have 2 inches of snow at 19 degrees. Hope you are ready to enjoy your time on Steemit, a great bunch of folks here.

Welcome to Steemit. It's an interesting world and there are many things to learn. I'll probably never learn them all. I also have little knowledge of Bitcoins, except for the fact that I should have bought at least $100 worth back in 2009 or 2010. I know Steem works, although I'm still a ways from establishing my $1M. I told my wife to give me 5 years. I hope that will be long enough.

Hindsight has 20/20 vision, my friend. But the future - you can make that whaaaatevvverrrr you want it to be! Thank you for the welcome @johnwjr7 :)

Nice intro. Sounds like you have a decent sense of humour and are open minded enough to really make some connections here, so welcome!

Seems like @mattclarke has done it again. Recruiter of the year perhaps?

Thanks @buggedout ! Great to meet you :)

Welcome to Steemit @kristielee. Nice to have someone like you here :) I hope you enjoy the platform. Waiting for your writings.

Ok, right. Got it.

But, if you are trying to imitate the buddha, your thumb goes against the palm and first finger. It is an energy flow thing.

As opposed to the other palm which is being held like a bowl, again, its an energy flow thing.

All that important stuff aside, the only thing bad to do on steemit is to go around saying, I upvoted you, upvote me. So, go out and find people who gotz interesting things to say/write.

I've upvoted and resteemed this comment.

Nice pick up on the placement of my thumb and hand - you're not the first :) I am totally guilty of not positioning either properly as I was too focused on trying to shift that uneasy feeling I get when having my picture taken. I will most definitely take your advice re do's and don'ts on Steemit

Then you should have totally positioned your fingers correctly! lol.
But, seriously, place the tongue against the roof of the mouth to complete the flow circle, to give you more energy. And connect your thumb to your ground finger and use it to ground those feelings.

There are other visualizations and practices if this one isn't up your alley.

You are photogenic enough, so there is no real reason to be uneasy.
However, it is totally caused by you focussing on yourself, looking at yourself.
You are not usually in that frame of mind.

Looking forward to more of your writings.

Geez, that's deep I better read more of your musings

Welcome to the community....

Hey, gorgeous :)
Can you hit 'Edit' and change one of those tags to underabigtree please?
Then you'll officially be my 6th recipient and I'll share this with my followers to give you some visibility.
Also, follow @quinneaker, he's one of our more popular hippies.

All done @mattclarke. Also,Thank you for not teasing me for doing it wrong :)

"Fibre artist? What's that?"
Exactly my thoughts. I won't Google it though. I'm sure you'll do a better job of explaining it someday. Good luck here!

Haha! Cheers @nonameslefttouse ! I will do my best.

Really? there were no names left to use? :D

I just type that in now when I sign up for something online. This way, I'm never met with the dreaded message...

"We're sorry. That name is already taken. Would you prefer to be Cooldude4life833294953824 instead?"

...and if that dreaded message does come up after I type in NoNamesLeftToUse, I just type in...

"I know."

Welcome, @kristielee! Looking forward to discovering your future articles :) New fan here :) Steem on!

Hey @herverisson ! Choo Choo to you too, brother! (or am I the ONLY one who thinks of a train when I read the word "steem" regardless of the spelling?) Thank you for your welcome :)

hahaha :) I thought about the "Steam" but not about the "Choo choo" before :) It would become the unofficial motto, or even the name of the crypto altogether XD

Welcome to Steemit, Kristie. Great story of how you found about Steemit.
Fibre Artist? What’s that?
I will look forward to reading about it. Feel free to share whatever you feel like, it will be welcomed warmly. Have fun. Steem On!

RIGHT! I just looked at your profile and you have 99645238347934 followers!! How on earth does I even appear in your feed, or whatever? I humbly thank you for your welcome. This is very kind community thus far :)

Wow! I wish I had that many followers haha. I have no idea but I'm glad that I came across your post. You are most welcome, do not forget to write about Fibre Artist. I will look forward to reading about it.

I'm working on it ;)

Glad to know that. :)
