My Introduce Yourself Post - Happy To Be In This Wonderful Place With All Of You!

INTRODUCTION

Hello fellow and sister Steemians! Before I dive into this Introduction, I must pause to say a heart-felt , “Thank you” to my new friends in the #newbieresteem community, specifically @davemccoy and @goldendawne for their solid encouragement to pole-vault over my “mental block”, and just get this Intro done!

My name is Sharon Ishmael. My Steemit name is “kismet2018”. I chose “kismet” meaning “destiny” or “fate”. That is precisely how I see this incredible platform and its potential to change a human life, anywhere on this planet! Imagine, a person just needs a cellphone and an email address to begin a life-changing journey, limited ONLY by his/her own creativity and imagination! Before I take off down the Steemit track, let me stop and share a bit about who I am.

I am an energetic 58 1/2 year-old, female, native of Trinidad & Tobago. I have had the honor and thrill to have lived, most of the last 43 years in Calgary, Alberta, Canada – “The Jewel of the Canadian Rockies”, and home of the 1988 Winter Olympics!

Who am I?

“Daughter” … “Only child”! In fact, I am the only known offspring of Dad’s and Mom’s, ages 83 ½ and 81 ½ years old, respectively. (When I read this to my Mom, she reacted to “known offspring”!) Each new day they are gifted with health, strength and happiness, translates into another grateful day for me! They are two remarkable humans, I am deeply honored and blessed to call “parents”. Their legacy to this planet is a busy and abundant life, giving and living!

“Mother” ... of two beautiful, talented, amazing human adults - a 28-year old woman and a 31-year old man. I am deeply honored and blessed to call them “my children”, with my first “grandchild” arriving this summer!

“Business Owner” … brokering essential services in 25 countries. Learning , playing, making friends on the Steemit global platform is what I do in my “real life”, in my “real business!” Life is all about creating, building, nurturing relationships and most of all, making a difference! That’s what I do!

“Business Partner”... Team Leader of 150 business partners! We are a team, with one mission – to help people help themselves! It’s a satisfying journey being inspired and inspiring, learning and mentoring, receiving and giving!

“GalaxyS7 Camera Enthusiast” …. I am not a photographer or an artist, but I do have a phone with an incredible camera and amazing photo apps. In Calgary, Nature has spoiled us abundantly with her finest artistry and splendor. Capturing that with my Galaxy S7 every opportunity I get, is what I do, as I live my life! Whether business, social, personal, I am armed with my S7, allowing me to capture precious surprises, and memories! My “Drive-bys” are shots taken, often times hanging out a moving vehicle window, screaming, “Shoot” into my voice-activated camera. I can’t say enough about this camera. I never cease to be amazed by what “She” captures! She sees the world through truly magnificent “lenses”!

Drive-by shot of the Calgary Tower, 9th Avenue, SW

“Wow Collector”… My WOWs are defined by Einstein’s quote – “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” That coincidences exist, is wonderful! That they are not “accidental” or “non-random”, is a “mind-blow”! Often times “coincidences” are intensely personal, small, meaningless to anyone else, yet loaded with deep significance for a person!! I’ve noticed the more we anticipate these, the more they happen!

“Beauty Discoverer” … Finding beauty in unlikely places and situations is an activity that never leaves me dissatisfied! The more dire the situation or circumstance the brighter the beauty once found! I agree with John Lubbock, “What we see depends mainly on what we look for.”

“What we see depends mainly on what we look for." (J. Lubbock) This is really a stormy night! Tell THAT to the sparkles on the windshield!

“Memes Collector & Creator”…. I love memes, quotes, bumper stickers, “punchy” shots of truth, random nuggets of wisdom! I enjoy creating, collecting and sharing. Wayne Dyer reminds us, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

I live by this!

“Friend to Many” … I live life with a deep “awareness” that nothing is random and we come into each other’s lives for reasons, most times unknown to us. As it sometimes goes, the very next stranger we meet could end up being a heart-bonded friend. It happens! Exploring, enjoying and sharing that journey with friends, strangers, strangers-who-become-friends, Is a very joyous ride!

“Life-long Learner”" …. Our planet, the universe, people, life are packed with mysteries. The search and discoveries are truly the “spice of life”! When O.W. Holmes said, “A mind that is stretched by new experience can never go back to its old dimensions,”, he is right!

“Information Sharer” … “To whom much is given, much is required.” (Luke 12:48) . When I discover ANYTHING that is good, useful, exciting, beneficial, it’s NOT mine to hoard! It’s not “accidental” that I got the information anyway, making it a moral and ethical obligation to “pass it along”! The number of people I have told, in the last 37 days, about Steemit is too large to count! How could I not share?!

“Observer of Life and the Human Animal”
In my opinion, there is truly no other more fascinating study! The human animal is incredibly talented, brilliant, creative, complicated, full of contradictions, capable of altruism, yet depraved cruelty. Regardless, I have noticed we ALL need to feel valued, and we feel fulfilled when we can make a difference! Steemit is an incredible system that satisfies both “needs”!

“Life and People Enthusiast”
I talk a lot but I also love hearing people’s stories! Every human has a personal, private story – the story of their life, living it from the” inside of their skin”. I love hearing that “inside story”! That is a project I will like to do on Steemit – Give a voice to non-technology folks and honor them by telling their story!

“Encourager”
My license plate says ITLLBOK … It’ll be ok. I live my life with this attitude and I make it my mission to always share hope, regardless of how bleak circumstances might be or how hopeless we feel. “While there is life, there is hope”!

Acknowledgements and Thanks!

The PAL/MSP, #newbieresteemday communities on Discord are communities of intelligent and amazing “Encouragers”! Their mission is to help and encourage minnows! Wow!! To know and learn from them fills me with profound excitement and gratitude! If there is ever a contest for Steemit Angels I know many folks from this community would be top contenders – special shout-out to @davemccoy, @goldendawne, @beeyou, @lynnecole1, @mudcat36, @seaslim, @@@bashadow ...

Special thanks to @davemccoy for the title of this blog and for helping with the formatting! Wouldn't have made it without his help today!

Too many to count, contests and challenges Steemians - - @juliank, @photocontests, @photofeed, Steemians whose work I enjoy are many - @derekkind,, @intrepidphotos, @perceptualflaws to name just a few..
I believe we always get what we NEED when we need it! I also believe we have whatever we need to make or take the next step!

Here is to our journey together, learning to be and become good “Steemit Citizens”.

Great job on your intro post Sharon! You definitely don’t need markdown advices from me, you know more than I do 🙂. I enjoyed reading your story and am happy our paths crossed. Sounds like you have good grasp of Steemit already but we are here to help nudge you along so you get off to a good start. I saw one of my teammates from @newbieresteemday already stopped by. We’re happy to have you a part of the team and together we can build Steemit into a great gathering of minds and friendship.

That’s very sweet of you to mention me in the acknowledgement section. Shucks, thanks.

PS, your posting time made it around prime time 😉.

Oh- congrats soon-to-be grandma!

See @beeyou? That's what I am talking about - warmth, friendliness, support on a crypto-currency platform - who knew?!

I appreciate your taking the time to read the "mini novel"! I almost chucked it because of its wordiness. I couldn't figure out how to fix it without totally redoing it!

Thanks to a nudge from @davemccoy and enormous Markdown Editor help, I was able to "Just Do It!" - hehe

I look forward to learning more so I can start "giving back"! Thank you again for your support, @beeyou! I am following you, Girl! I know I can't go wrong!

Social media and cryptocurrency, who knew right? Your mini-novel is great. It gives everyone a chance to get to know you. Sometimes editing is not always best because you are writing things of importance to you. Why sell yourself short? I don’t write much but when I do (like the weekly recap I write for our initative), I have a hard time ‘editing’ as well. I know it’s supposed to be a recap but there is just so much to talk about!

Btw, kismet is a beautiful name. The people you meet on here is fated in a way if you think about it.

Thanks for the follow!

Absolutely! Our being in each other's lives is not random or accidental in my world! There is always a reason, purpose, a lesson to either be learned or taught! I look forward to your reading your "stuff" and doing this awesome journey with you!

I personally play guitar, piano, keyboard, synths, bass and MPC :) I look forward to reading and supporting your next posts. And i will check out your group for sur. Peace. CS

Holy smokies, @communicasound! You are truly talented - and to think you are willing to share the "How to Play" with the rest of the world, is HUGE!!!!

Haha thank you i really appreciate it. This school takes me a lot of time to manage on all the social networks but my best reward is to know that some people are learning and having fun with music :) Anyway, i'm happy to connect with you. Really good vibes on your side. Peace. CS

Hello! I love your post, I hope to continue interacting with you, I will be aware of your publications! go through my blog and tell me what you think is right? regards!

Thank you @soulofthoughts! I took this self-description from your profile and used a translator to get the English translation.

"Alma Gabriela ¡Venezolana, amante de la comida, la música y con ganas de vivir cada día como si fuera el último!"

Translation ...

"Alma Gabriela Venezuelan, lover of food, music and wanting to live every day as if it were the last!"

First that you were Venezuelan caught my attention! You are 7 miles away from Trinidad & Tobago, my birthland!

Second, you are a lover of food and music! I definitely can relate! I am a "jammer" and LOVEEE food!

Third, was your quote of live each day like it's your last. I love that quote too and I made a pic of it a couple weeks ago! Thank you for letting me share it with you!

It was very lovely to meet you and I thank you for your kind support again! I am following you, though I would have to do it with a translator! I suspect it will be worth it

Appreciate your stopping by to say, "Welcome" @whack.science! I will be following you!

Your style of intro is lovely. Welcome on board. Wishing you success.

Thank you for your gracious greeting, @hynet! I return the wish for your continued success!

Oh WOW! What an absolutely EXCELLENT introduction!

I am so pleased, happy, ecstatic, thrilled (so many other adjectives that could go here) for you!

GREAT to meet you here; even though we've been chatting so much in the last week, it's always been business. Nice to see your smiling face!

Awwww ... thank you so much @goldendawne and "Wow" is right, @goldendawne! Giggles here at your "adjective run"! Thank you again so very much for all the information and coaching you have given me in the last week and for what you do for the #newbieresteemday community!

What a day yesterday was, as I am sure you could imagine! So grateful that after @davemccoy read the draft, he insisted that it was good to go! Based on his word, and only his word, I proceeded because, like I have commented elsewhere, I was ready to "chuck it"! I found it to be painfully wordy and I just couldn't figure out how to "chop smoothly"! But he enthusiastically approved it, so here we are!! Really glad that Intro is out of the way though! It's been my "albatross" for 36 days! Glad to be rid of it!

Many thanks again, Girl!!

Welcome to steemit! Very good presentation, success in your new post!!

Many thanks @deyvich! I see you are new too! Meanwhile, if you haven't done so yet, please check out #newbieresteemday.

Hi Sharon, a big welcome you to Steemit. Probably you have a lot of questions about it and the easiest way to get proper answer is from reading the official website FAQ (https://steemit.com/faq.html).

We can see a lot of effort been putting into writing your introduction. Well done!

Have fun exploring and posting your experiences in Steemit. Cheers!

@legendchew, I thank you for your kind comments and for your invitation to check "the official website FAQ". I will! Wishing you continued success! Thanks again!

You too. All the best !

What a glorious introductory post! Yours is one of the best I've ever read. I'm so glad you are here, and that you've shared who you are with us. I look forward to exchanging life wisdom memes with you, with the occasional hilarious meme thrown in, just to mix it up. I like your license plate, too! Your car is like a little message of hope, wherever you drive it. Glad you made here, Kismet! Welcome!

Awww ... you are pure kindness @seaslim!! Thank you! And to think I almost chucked it at the last minute! Thanks to @davemccoy, I didn't! I thought it was painfully wordy and couldn't figure out how to chop it! Look forward to sharing truth nuggets with you - hilarious and serious!

In the middle of my exceeding-bandwidth-limits "lesson", I created this one ...

Precious and makes me smile you appreciate the ITLLBOK license plate!

Thank you for ALL your support!!!

Haha! That's ME every single morning. LOL Brilliant!

Bahaha ... I get it!

Welcome to Steemit Sharon. With that very long introduction post, I can tell you this platform is for you. Yes, @davemccoy is always happy to help. Actually he is my mentor. Have fun and enjoy Sharon. Nice to meet you.

Thank you for the warm welcome @josephbuarao! Yes, you are right! My Intro post was "very long"! I almost did NOT post for precisely that reason! Our friend and mentor @davemccoy dissuaded me ... he thought it was "good to go"! I hope you continue to enjoy your Steemit journey too, Joseph!

welcome to the community!

Thank you, @maryarez! I appreciate it! I see you have been on Steemit for a short time too! I see you have been active and having a great time! Awesome! I wish you continued success! I will be following you!

welcome to steemit... I hope you are comfortable here

Hi @lopezdacruz! Thank you for your welcome! It means a lot, as I am sure you can remember when you first began this journey!

I noticed you are in Indonesia! I will be going to an Indonesian restaurant on Wednesday because it is owned by Business Partners/Friends and I LOVE THE FOOD!! My favorite dish is called "Green Chicken"! It's green because it is coated and cooked in HOT chilis!!!

Thank you again for your support! I am following you!

Thanks @stevekelly! I will check your post!

Okay Steve, I took the bait! I will participate in your game! Thank you for sharing your creativity and this opportunity! Feel free to comment on my Intro Blog!
