The Problems I had when joining Steemit

Hello everyone!

Maybe some of you are already familiar with problems when creating an account on Steemit, it can be quite troublesome for people who would like to join because of the approval system. And then afterward, it was time-consuming to get used to the completely new environment of this website. It took me a while to understand what needs to be done in the beginning, so I am devoting this article for those people, who are enthusiastic about joining and developing here. By sharing the mistakes I’ve made with the solutions to those problems, perhaps this post can help others to avoid these headaches.

-First problem: Creating an account and getting the approval.
The first time I tried to create an account, the name of my email and the username of Steemit was different. I registered 2-3 weeks ago but still haven’t received the approval. I was anxious to start blogging here but the confirmation email did not want to come, so I started to read articles about how people managed to join.
-Solution: Create another email account (I created one on http://www.protonmail.com; It is a well-protected email service), then with the same name, I registered a new account on Steemit. I got the approval email within a day.

-Second problem: Logged in at last, what to do next?
You will see so many posts, tags, information; the interface might be too alien for you. So, I tried writing my first blog about my idea, but not many people were interested in reading it (or they just didn’t see it). Since I didn’t have much money on this website, it was very confusing when I thought about how to get up on my feet after starting out.
-Solution: it seems it's better to write a post where you introduce yourself at first. The first tag of your article should be #introduceyourself, because it defines the category of what you write. Someone told me that curators have this local tradition of helping out the freshmen by voting their introductory posts. They find new people through this tag, so you will be doing a big favor for yourself if you write an interesting article about yourself with some interesting story and good photos. Each vote from those people can really help out beginners, most probably it's thanks to how much Steem Power they have (you can convert your Steem to Steem Power, your vote will have more influence depending on how much Steem Power you have).

-Third problem: The system is quite complicated to understand.
Well, I still haven’t understood Steemit fully xD
But I am doing my best to learn more about how everything works. There are guides on the website, people wrote many articles with advice and tips, active users are on Steemit chat, Telegram/Signal groups, Discord servers and so on. If you wish to get help from others, start interacting with them and many of the users will be happy to support you. Without their help, it would have been really hard for me to find my place in this community.

What I've learned here is that Steemit is a very Karmic place. So, giving other people advice and supporting them by voting their posts will not only be good to them but at the end of the day, you will also get Steem in return. In this community - Everything comes back!
