Well Here I Am on Steemit

Since I have been poking around on Google to learn more about Steeemit this weekend, I spoke with someone at work .....

I learned about this social media platform from a video I watched on YouTube. When I mentioned the video and my interest in what it was and why I thought it would be successful, and how I thought I could be successful using it - personally & financially the comment I received was "Your Just an average Joe". Basically, who and why would anyone listen to you or be interested in what I might have to say in a public arena. Perhaps they are right, perhaps they are wrong?

While I write this tonight, I honestly do not know what the outcome of my actions will be from this point forward. Exciting yet fearful in the same instance.

Let me start by saying, I am not Gary Busey - nor am I the "Joe Dirt". (David Spade) I choose the name "joedirt" because of the back-handed comment from my co-worker about being an "average Joe" and that name had been selected here on Steemit by another user - but I commented to him when he insulted me "I'm Joe Dirt"!

joedirt was not taken here on Steemit so I adopted it tonight. Today is Day One. I selected the picture of Gary Bucey because:

1. I do not want to be known, and remain anonymous. I hope this is ok, and if it is not I will gladly find another image of a non-public figure. It's just an avatar photo for me. Also I like Cigars.

2. I selected joedirt because this was the first thing that came to mind when receiving an insult from another person - be gregarious & buy into their humor. (Hence they think they in some way won) - It's a win/win. No fights, no arguments, really not important in the grand scheme of things & life.

That said, I would like to know more about Steemit and the platform of blogging on a social media site that "pays it's users to post". How original, I suppose this might disrupt Face Book in the future.

I don't live in a lovely neighborhood, but I like it. I'm not some guy from substance or wealth. I'm not even sure at this point what I may or may not be able to contribute to the community here on Steemit - it's been well over an hour since I began this post. I do know that I watched this video:

Since then I spent the weekend on how to get Steem and sign up here at Steemit. In another video he spoke about how he was "All In" on the concept of this new social media alternative to Face Book, and from what I have read it's an important idea. I'm not a social media master by any means, neither do I pretend to know much about the Steem Coin and how it operates. This I believe I can learn in time.
