Great post on debt buying!

I'm a data scientist from Miami, and I've begun a pet project trying to help a friend's collections law firm score debt before purchase. I've trained a learning algorithm on the firm's historical recovery records, and the model isn't bad -- it's not a silver bullet -- but it's an improvement over their old methods for choosing which debts to buy.

I'm hoping to gauge interest for a solution like this with debt buyers like yourself. Is it interesting? Is it a good fit for the market? Is there some other prediction / classification task that would be more compelling?

Would you be interested in batting the idea around with me? You seem like a good resource for this kind of thing.
