I do feel like maybe a terraced house may have been a mistake for this giraffe although i feel like an A-frame is indeed the way to go although i am having trouble trying to figure out how to get the Lion to refrain from eating all the other animals.... hmmmm ;)

Lions can indeed be pesky in those circumstances. You may have to take a layered approach to who lives where. Perhaps the lions could have porcupines or skunks as neighbors to make them stay put, like a frame around a picture.
I'm sure you'll get it all worked out eventually with enough pondering. ;~D
