Howdy steemers, I'm Jon, I grow tomatoes, dabble in crypto currency and now a newb steemiteer!!

Well I think that sums it up!

Like I said, I grow tomatoes as my main means of cash flow, it works, but it is seasonal.

So to supplement my cash flow in the off season I do a little crypto currency work, I am a late comer to steem but it looks like it could be the way to go in the future.

Do I expect to make a million on steemit, hell yes I do!! Well maybe not a million, but if it starts paying a little here and there, it's all good.

Let's face it folks, it's all about multiple income streems! see what i did there?  Is it better to make a million all at once or five dollars a day for the rest of your life? I guess only you can answer that for yourselves, I know my answer.

 I digress.

So I live in South East Texas and started growing tomatoes four or five years ago, it's a good gig, I am my own boss, but the hours are long and days off are few.  As with any business, you get out of it what you put in, or to use an agricultural analogy, you reap what you sow.

We grow in the off season since we can control our climate in the greenhouse, which allows us to be pretty much the only folks selling locally grown tomatoes October thru June, this way we set our price and get a little better return than competing with the field growers over the summer.

Since we don't grow over the summer we take that time to clean out the greenhouse and get prepped for the next season, Talk about hot work, temps in the greenhouse in June thru August can reach 100 degrees or better, not good for plants or humans.

So a couple summers ago, during the hot part of the day I started looking into crypto currencies and did a little mining here and there, also a bad idea during the summer since these mining rigs put off alot of heat, but once I saw those coins being mined I was hooked. I have a few rigs I run most of the time and save the big stuff for the cooler months. And that is what lead me here to steemit and the steem universe, getting some coin for posting , voting and curating content sounds like a lot better way to go and it will probably lower my electricity bill too!

So here we are, a new frontier so to speak, I look forward to making new friends, checking out some great content, and hopefully a little income to boot! I for one think this steemit business may have some legs!

Let's all get down to business and make this thing great!!

I'll holler at ya'll later,

Jon
