A Little Bit of Me... Into the world of Steemians I dive!

Hello you awesome Steemians!

My name is Erin, I am 36 years old and have been living with an ileostomy since I was 26.

Whats an ileostomy you may ask?

Well basically its where they took my insides out and now I go to the bathroom slightly differently to the norm. Very long story short I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC) in 2006, by the end of 2009 I had endured twelve surgeries, four stomas, fistulas, a j-pouch and am now the proud owner of my very own barbie butt. Yes that is my arse...

2017 has been the year of acceptance for me, recently having my ten year Stomaversary, yay me!

With acceptance came my ability to share my story and through that help others feel less isolated and give them the hope that anything is possible and that having an ostomy is not a sentence worse than death as I have heard it quote, it is only the beginning of a life that I would not have otherwise had if not for the marvels of #medical science.

I have had some success since starting my #blog recently winning 'Rookie of the Year' in this years WEGO Health Awards, travelling to America to meet other patient #health advocates from around the world. Feel free to check out my BLOG InsideOut Ostomy Life.

So what brings me to Steemit?

My husband @shai-hulud had been talking about crypto currency for a few years now but not activity doing anything, last month this changed, we bit the bullet and invested, with investment comes research and with that research we found Steemit.

Although I still post to other social media platforms, I now find myself turning away from scrolling through their feeds as I would rather spend my time being a part of something bigger that in the end can turn into a potential residual income source, as honestly who really still wants to be working at 75?

Now for some fun facts about me:

I'm married to this amazing man here.

My husband and I love Stargate so much we wrote it into our wedding vows and now have same same but different tattoos combining our favorite things 🐍

We have a lowered dog called Pia, she is a Dachshund and is now 15 years old, I'm sure she has spent a few of those in the toilet with her mum 🐶

My husband and I are #gym enthusiasts. We started training at the gym together about two years ago and haven't stopped we train four to six days a week, its a great way to release stress. Yes I am a bit of a #stress head.

I love turtles and once spent a winter on a research expedition travelling through outback WA studying fresh water turtles 🐢

I have 80 parachute jumps under my belt and used to ride my motorcycle to the drop zone every weekend 🏍

I love to #travel, we recently got back from the US but regularly travel to South East Asia and got married in Koh Samui #Thailand.

Last but by no means least what can I bring to #Steemit?

That is a very good question, one I have asked myself a few times since joining and also the reason its taken me a week to write this #introduceyourself post as I still don't have the answer. I guess all I can do is be me and hope that adds value to this community.
