Hello to everyone out there on Steemit. My name is Michael and I would like to tell you a little bit about myself via this “introduce yourself” post.
I first learned about Steemit from listening to the “Anarchast” podcast, hosted by Jeff Berwick , which I’ve enjoyed listening to for several years. I know that it will take some time before I fully comprehend how everything works.
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada and in my early 30’s decided to come and work in Abu Dhabi. This is my 10th year living abroad and I love it. I still get to play ice hockey over in the desert because of all the expats living here. I also enjoy doing Maui Thai kickboxing.
Living so close to so many different places has allowed for quick and easy travel to other places around the world that would normally be too far away living in Canada. The people you meet in these countries are wonderful, and make you realize that no matter where you’re from, we are all the same. This has been a great learning experience for me as well as my family.
I have been an elementary teacher since 2001. Over time I realized that there are certain topics that are completely avoided in school at all grade levels. On top of that I often found textbooks incorrect about various topics. Our history completely whitewashed. Many basic life skills never covered. I often find myself teaching ten year olds to fully comprehend things like the Fibonacci Sequence and how it’s found everywhere in nature.
Due to a curriculum that I saw as lacking in so many areas I started by creating a Facebook and Twitter page called “Information Incorporated.” Its mandate is simple: to cover topics that are typically not covered in any school curriculum. I promised myself that I would never post anything that I couldn’t back up with factual evidence. Therefore no articles about politicians being shape-shifting reptilians. LOL!
Please visit Information Incorporated at https://www.facebook.com/Information-Incorporated-433861950114244/ . My Twitter is https://twitter.com/Info_Inc73 . Please LIKE & SHARE anything and help me make this project grow.
As of this moment I will use this forum to continue my writing in this field and it is my sincere hope that you find it as interesting as I do.
Time to Steem forward!
Glad to have you here.

Great read, upvoted and followed. Keep them coming!! If I may make a suggestion? Maybe a future topic could relate to the "importance of respecting yourself?"
