Hello From Minnesota! (My Intro, Come Say "Hi!") :)

Hello, Steemit Community!

I clicked on an article I wanted to check out a few weeks ago and was redirected to a little old place called Steemit. “Hmm, this is interesting,” I thought to myself. I perused around the site and decided to sign up. And now I’m now approved, yay!    I’m floored by what’s going on here! This community is amazing and this is such a fun, unique opportunity for anyone who likes to write!

My Very First Post on Steemit!

Since this is my first post, I thought I’d introduce myself.   My name is Jess, but you can call me Goldie…it’s my nickname.

This is me in on my favorite beach on Oahu. I love watching the sun come up there. It's quiet and very few people are there early in the morning. It's so peaceful.

My Northern Roots

I was born and raised in northern Minnesota...

Here I am in my mukluks on one of the biggest lakes in Minnesota, Mille Lacs (it's pretty much right in the center of the state)...walking on water. :) Frozen water, of course. Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 lakes but in reality there are well over 11,000.

Island Dreams

But I'm pretty sure I was Hawaiian in another life. I love the island lifestyle and I’m not a fan of the cold anymore...It's my plan to move to Hawaii in the next 3-7 years.

If I had my way, I'd wear board shorts, a swim suit and flip flops every day of the week. I'm working towards my goal. I fell in love with Hawaii years ago when my husband and I got married there. We had a traditional Hawaiian wedding complete with lais, conch blowing and Hawaiian wedding cake, Liliok'i - passion fruit! My husband was in the Marine Corps and lived on Oahu for years so we get to some places most tourists don't...and maybe even some places we could have gotten arrested on our hiking adventures. Yikes!

Creating My Dream Life Day By Day...

I’ve had my own online business since 2012 and in early 2016, I was able to quit my crappy government job to work on my business full time. I love helping other people get started in creating a life and business around what they want and are passionate about. I’m in the process of reframing my direction and starting a life and business coaching business with my new business partner, Shyla.

Life is good.

A Few Other Things...

1. I'm extremely clumsy. I'm currently recovering from a badly sprained ankle and last weekend I actually fell through a cattle guard - many expletives were said and tears shed (I don't recommend it in case you're curious).

2. I used to worry and worry and worry about what other people think of me. As I get older, I'm thinking about it less and less. Do what YOU like, Say what YOU believe in. Stop holding back because you fear disapproval from others. Not everyone will like us, right? But those who matter don't mind and those who do don't matter. And that's OKAY! :)

3. Success is 90% in our heads...that's a lot. So I've found that to really get somewhere, you have to work on yourself EVERY DAY.

4. If you want to be super successful start getting up early. No seriously! Most of the most successful people on the planet get up during the wee hours of the morning to complete their morning ritual. Personally, I've been getting up at 4:15 a.m. for almost six years now (most days).

Things I ♥

I love to spend time with my husband and dogs, be in nature, read and learn new things, write, hang out with family and friends, meditate, listen to music, eat chocolate, drink coffee, go hiking, backpacking and ridge climbing and I’m a foodie who loves to travel.

I just got back from a week long camping trip in Wyoming where I witnessed the eclipse from high up in the mountains - best spot ever! That was the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen! I’m still blown away. It’s one of those rare things you really have to experience in person to fully comprehend - photos and even video don’t do it justice.

Summer of 2017's road trip was AWESOME! We stayed in free camping areas because we don't mind roughing it for the amazing views and peach and quiet. We watched the eclipse up in the mountains overlooking a valley. The views were stunning and the eclipse was hands down one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Bummer it only lasted a minute.

My Mission to Help Others Online

My journey in the last six years hasn’t been an easy one and prior to that, I was solely working a soul-sucking job for six years. It took me 12 years to finally get out of there and my goal is to help, encourage and SUPPORT as many people as I can to do the same thing.    I’ve learned life is way too short to be miserable. You don’t have to do what society or even people close to you say you should be doing. If there’s something inside that feels like something isn’t right, listen to your intuition. If you're wishing things were different or if you’re asking yourself if this is all there is in life, I’m telling you THERE IS! If I can do it, so can you.

What I'll Be Contributing to Steemit

I plan to share my business (mis)adventures and provide tips, talk about my life - dogs, relationships, struggles (and how to overcome them), food, healthy living, travel, the Law of Attraction (not in a ridiculous super woo woo way, promise!), how to improve mindset and lessons I’ve learned that completely changed my perspective on life.   I’m excited to join this community, make awesome new friends I and hope to contribute in a way that’s useful, inspiring and motivating.

Life’s true gift lies in your freedom to design it beautifully. With each rise of the sun, you get to chase the opportunity to fill your days with meaning—to live your life the way you choose.   - Unknown

Let's Be Friends On Social! :)

(I've been fairly quiet the last several months due to restructuring my business, finding the right business partner and also planning and now we're getting into market research...fun times. In the next 3 months we plan to be back at full steam on social. I'd love and be so grateful if you followed me. Thank you!)

It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I made this post to explain the system in more depth and show how I earn over $1 a day in upvotes.
