RE: Hello Steemit - I'm Scott Zimer from New York

in #introduceyourself5 years ago

Hello Scott, welcome to Steem! :-)
@cheetah warned us, but there's a point, you link from here to your website and social media profiles, thing is, that anyone can do that pretending to be you, so to make a proof you would have to link the other way around (put info on your official page or twitter, that your Steem handle is zimernyc)
If unsure, people will hesitate as we had many cases with impostors.

Good point, here is the Tweet
@gtg ;) Cheers

Note to myself to keep an eye on -in case it's the real one- (:

Here is the Tweet, thank you @nelyp

Thank you for confirming on IG as well!!!
Although you probably are not going to need it, I wish you the best of luck on the platform 🙃

Can you give a link to the confirmation on IG? His latest post just got blasted by steemcleaners (I believe in error) but I would like to know for sure before I dispute with steemcleaners. Not sure if you noticed but the twitter account is brand new (jan 2020) and is not linked from the official website so the tweet doesn't really confirm anything.
EDIT nevermind got a new confirmation on instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/B5DcHQRA6he/

Ups, sorry, haven't had time for steem lately (so sad!) and just now saw this. I do have a private conversation on IG from the official account.

unfortunately you do not link to that twitter (or any social media) from your website, and the twitter account is brand new as of Jan 2020 so honestly that doesn't actually help prove you are the content owner. Anyone could have made that twitter account and the fact it was made right around the same time you started posting on Steem actually makes it look a little suspicious.

EDIT - thanks for the confirmation on Instagram. :) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5DcHQRA6he/
If you want to avoid having people continually asking you if this is your content here, the easiest way to do it would be adding a link back to your steem blog on your website. If you don't want to do that for some reason, adding a link to your twitter on your website would verify that the twitter account is actually owned by the real Zimer :) A verification on Instagram would help as well since at least the instagram @zimernyc account is older and has 7k followers, so much less likely to be faked - but note you do not even link to your instagram from your website either.
