RE: #introduceyourself Scott - old school geek in Nicaragua

Welcome to steemit Scott!

While I still have an interest in sustainable living in general and solar energy in particular the reason I came to steemit was to become a better writer.

Definitely have many common interests! Looking forward to some of your sustainable living posts!

Hi, nice to meet you. I was trying to decide if I should do some sustainable living stuff vs. just writing fiction. Since you're interested in that topic I will definitely put it on the agenda.

I've got lots of experience with solar but lately have been working on really cheap, dependable pure DC systems built for specific uses. Some of my designs are around the idea of what can be done with panels hooked directly to a device without any charge controller, batteries, etc. I've been pleasantly surprised with some of the results.

Other stuff I have going on is about 5 yrs experience now with stabilized compressed earth block (CEB), home built solar ovens and using bitcoin miners to dry fruit and precious hardwoods.

It's nice to see so many other folks here with a passion for it. I'll be checking out your blog for sure. Thanks for the comment.
cheers

If you're ever looking for a group or community to get involved with on steemit I do belong to a homesteaders group. We talk about everything from gardening to permaculture, livestock to off grid living and on and on... we have a vast variety of topics.

I would love to see sustainable and solar. Very interesting topics to me personally.

also the fiction writing. There are a lot of tags for that... steemitbloggers, freewrite- again the list goes on and on.

Awesome. I've still got a lot to learn. I have the land/resources/time to do it here in Nicaragua and the rest of my life to experiment. I will take a look at some of the things you mentioned once my SP has a chance to recharge. I've been voting so much recently it's all shot out :-)
I just see so much stuff I like and can't pass by without an upvote!

lol- yeah that tends to happen... all too often!
