Hello Steemit World-I'm Samantha and I Make Stained Glass Art!

in #introduceyourself8 years ago (edited)

Now that you've seen a small glimpse into how I got started with my stained glass hobby, I'd like to share a little something about me and my life! I'm currently 29 years old and was born in Dover, New Hampshire. I have an older brother (a Marine and a great single dad to a beautiful 3 year old girl) and two wonderful parents.

Growing up, I was never a popular girl by any means but I was also never an outcast either; I was always stuck somewhere in the middle. I was in the band for nine years (played flute) and have always loved music and the arts. I would use painting and drawing as a means of self-expression, especially when I couldn't find the words to do so. I've always been drawn to the classic rock genre of music as well as "jam bands" such as Phish, The Grateful Dead (also Dead and Company) and Moe.

When I was 20 years old, I was succumbed to bad influences and lost sight of who I was for a very short time. Two years later I pulled myself back up and moved to Mississippi (where my mom was living at the time) to better my life, start over or find myself, whichever came first. Luckily for me, I did all three. I met some amazing people, saw some incredible things and learned a lot about myself. By the time I moved back to New Hampshire I had a fresh new perspective and insight to life.

My life, however, didn't really begin until I gave birth to my son two years ago (cliché I know, but true nonetheless). He made me feel this exponentially powerful form of love that I had only ever heard about but never experienced. This tiny human is the new reason why I do everything that I do and I thank him for that. Everyday means something special and I can't wait to see what tomorrow has in store! Thanks for reading!
