The Google 20% rule is for people to work on projects that benefit Google the most, not themselves. Imagine if a friend told you that they wanted you to take an hour every day to do something that would benefit them. It's kinda crazy. Few Googlers can even take the time off from their normal projects to do it. I think taking time regularly to work on something you are passionate about, or improving yourself, or something that's best for you, are all good things. These days many of us are caught up in work and the internet, so taking some time out to do something for the good of yourself can be a good thing.
Trueeee! I think spending some time to invest in our own interest and passion is definitely very important instead of simply working for others’ benefit. Wish that time I spent here would do the both - express and improve myself, meanwhile share my thoughts to others ! Thanks for your reminder!! :)
