Hello steem community! I am a freelancing artist who looks forward to sharing successes and failures with you. I am 31 years old living in the Pacific Northwest. I have a psychology background but an addiction to the outdoors! I enjoy hiking, camping, kayaking, snowboarding and anything else that gets me outside.

Early Years

I was born and raised in Chillicothe Ohio. A small town in the south central part of the state. Growing up my grandparents had a huge influence. They owned an RV and frequently went camping, fishing and hiking. I quickly began enjoying these activities. I went to college at Ohio University and studied psychology. After school I decided it was time to explore the world, where though, I wasn't sure. A colleague had recently been accepted into a graduate program in the Pacific Northwest. I decided to visit and the rest is history. I quickly fell in love with Portland Oregon and the surrounding region. I had decided that is where I would start my next chapter. I flew back home, tied up loose ends and said goodbye. Anything that wouldn't fit in my 1994 Honda Civic I sold or gave away.

Pacific Northwest Life

Since my break up with Ohio, I have meet several amazing people and have had many adventures. I have worked in the service industry to pay the bills, however, I adventure as much as possible. I have went on many hikes in the Columbia River Gorge as well as the Oregon Coast. I also fell in love with kayaking, I can not get enough time on the water! This spring I went on a 3 day kayak camping trip on the Willamette River that I look forward to telling very one about. I have a wonderful girlfriend that supports all my dreams as well as having her own. We have 2 dogs, a 7 pound Yorkshire Terrier and a 60 pound mutt. They love each other and love to adventure with us! My Yorkie will be on the trail passing folks, getting ahead of us to only stop and wait as soon as we are out of sight. Her largest hike to date was Mt. Defiance in Oregon. Defiance is an 11.6 mile loop in which you climb 4,940 feet in elevation and is considered the highest peak as well as the hardest hike in the Columbia River Gorge.

To Come

I have lots of adventuring left, as this is only the tip of the iceberg. I look forward to sharing all my future fun with you! I hope to blog my adventures with the intent to convince others to invest more in nature as well as share the secrets it takes to have fun, be safe and prepared.
